Dubnyk stopped 30 of 31 shots in the Wild’s 2-1 win in Chicago on Tuesday. Entering Tuesday, Dubnyk had lost five of his last six, so it was a big win for the Wild netminder. He draws an excellent matchup vs. a Maple Leafs team playing in the second night of a back-to-back. Dubnyk has gone 8-3-0 with a 2.11 GAA and .922 SV% at home and the Leafs are 4-7-2 on the road.
Cunningham had no points, 11 shots and a minus-1 rating in six games with the Coyotes during his call-up. His assignment to the minors suggests that Steve Downie will come off of IR and return to the lineup in Detroit.
Varlamov allowed four goals on 27 shots in Colorado’s loss in Brooklyn on Monday. Since returning from his injury, Varlamov has gone 2-2-0 with a 3.33 GAA and .879 SV%. Tonight he will take on a Rangers team that has struggled recently—New York is 1-3-1 in their last five games, averaging just 1.80 goals per game over that span.
Tarasenko missed Wednesday's practice session with an illness, but was back on the ice this morning. The Blues don't play until Friday, so his return to practice today is a good sign that he will be in the lineup tomorrow.
Zibanejad suffered a head injury on Tuesday and will be held out of the lineup on Thursday. With Zibanejad and Milan Michalek out, the Senators will be forced to go with six defensemen. Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Shane Prince will play in the top-6.

Bishop’s numbers on the season are very strong, but the Lightning are still struggling offensively—they’ve averaged just 2.20 goals per game over their last 10.

With four days off in between games and Rask riding a three-game winning streak, he makes for a strong start tonight in Edmonton. Over his three-game winning streak he has posted a stellar 1.95 GAA and .934 SV%. His season numbers continue to climb closer to Tuukka Rask-type numbers.
Gudas will miss this week’s Friday-Saturday back-to-back and then next Tuesday’s game vs. the Islanders. He is eligible to play next Thursday in St. Louis. Expect Nick Schultz (upper-body) to play tomorrow if he is healthy.
Fisher suffered a lower-body injury in Tuesday’s game against the Coyotes. Fisher was placed on IR this afternoon and will miss at least four games with the lower-body issue. With Fisher out, the Predators will likely recall a forward.
Maroon has just one goal and three assists in 24 games this season and will likely be a healthy scratch tonight with Nate Thompson expected to make his season debut vs. the Lightning.
Thompson has missed the start of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery in June. Thompson is expected to slot in on the Ducks’ fourth line against his former team. With Thompson back in the lineup, Patrick Maroon will likely be the healthy scratch.
Paquette is expected to miss his seventh straight game with an upper-body issue. The winger was on the ice for the Lightning’s optional morning skate, but still isn’t expected to play tonight. Monitor his status heading into the weekend.
Johnson is expected to miss his second straight game with an undisclosed injury. Despite Johnson being doubtful tonight, he could return during the road trip which continues on Saturday and Sunday in San Jose and Los Angeles.
Drouin has missed the last six games with an undisclosed injury, but he is expected to return to the lineup tonight in Anaheim. Drouin, who had one goal and five assists in his first 14 games, is expected to skate on the second line with Vladimir Namestnikov and Nikita Kucherov.
Kenins has one assist in seven games with the Utica this season. Last year was his first NHL season, Kenins had 12 points (4G / 8A) in 30 games. He is expected to make his season debut on Thursday vs. the Stars.
Pedan played just 3:45 TOI in his NHL debut on Tuesday and has been swapped out for Ronalds Kenins with the Canucks in need of a forward and not a defenseman.
