Jones stopped 25 of 26 shots in the Sharks 1-0 loss to the Ducks on Friday. John Gibson’s shutout forced a second straight loss on Jones, who will start tonight in Calgary. Like I’ve mentioned before, Jones is a tonne better on the road than at home, he comes into play with a 9-2-0 record, 1.61 GAA and .944 SV% on the road this season. He already has a win over the Flames this season.
Dupuis missed the majority of the 2014-15 season because of a blood clot, but he battled back and played in 18 games this season. However, the Penguins announced on Tuesday that Dupuis will no longer play hockey because of a medical condition related to the blood clots. Dupuis will wrap up his NHL career with 190 goals and 219 assists (409 points) in 871 career regular season game.
Lehtonen stopped 14 of 16 shots for an easy win in Vancouver last Thursday. Antti Niemi started on Friday, but it looks like it will be Lehtonen tonight vs. the Hurricanes. Lehtonen is an impressive 10-1-0 with a 2.37 GAA and .918 SV% on the year and will make his second start of the season vs. Carolina—he stopped 30 of 31 shots in a 4-1 win in November.
Ward allowed four goals on 23 shots in the Hurricanes win over the Coyotes on Saturday. Ward has won two in a row while allowing six goals on 61 shots (.901 SV%). Having won two in a row, it looks like Ward will get his third straight start. Ward has gone 3-6-0 on the road and draws a terrible matchup tonight in Dallas.
Couture has been out since October 13th, but will be back in the Sharks lineup on Tuesday. Couture will skate on the Sharks’ second line with Patrick Marleau and Joel Ward and will also be featured on the top power-play unit. Couture had one assist in three games before his injury.
Varlamov stopped 19 of 20 shots in the Avs’ win over the Wild on Monday. He has won two of three while allowing just four goals on 88 shots (.955 SV%). Things appear to be turning around for Varlamov who had a rough two months to start the season. He draws a nice matchup against a Predators team that has lost three of his last five.
Rundblad has been a healthy scratch in the last 17 games, but will be in the lineup tonight with Trevor Daley (upper-body) out of the lineup. Rundblad has no points and a minus-2 rating in five games this season.
Smith gave up for goals on 27 shots in the Coyotes loss in Buffalo on Friday. Smith has lost his last three starts and posting an ugly 4.77 GAA and .867 SV% but Anders Lindback was equally as bad on Sunday, so Smith will go tonight vs. the Blues. Smith is 5-6-1 with a 3.19 GAA and .899 SV% in 12 starts on the road this season.
The only NHL action that Tokarski has seen this season is a third period back in November, when he allowed two goals on 13 shots in what turned out to be a 6-1 loss to the Avalanche. In his time with St. John’s (AHL) he has gone 2-3-3 with a 3.20 GAA and .900 SV%. He is a career 9-9-5, 2.85 GAA and .906 SV% NHL goalie, so he is hard to trust against a Detroit team that is 7-0-4 in their last 11.
Condon allowed three goals on 29 shots in the Canadiens loss in Carolina on Saturday. He has lost each of his last two starts while allowing a combined six goals on 48 shots (.875 SV%). Tonight he will look to get back on track vs. a Bruins team that the Habs have dominated in recent years. In his first career start vs. the Bruins, he stopped 29 of 31 shots in a 4-2 win.
Semin, who was a healthy scratch in the last five games, has seen his NHL career come crashing down. He has been sent to the AHL, but there is no word now whether or not he will report. Semin had just one goal and three assists in 15 games this season.
Lindbohm had seven points (2G / 5A) in 20 games with Chicago (AHL) prior to his call-up. Lindbohm has two goals and one assist in 23 games with the Blues last season. He will skate with Shattenkirk tonight, replacing Joel Edmundsson, who was sent down when Lindbohm was called up.
Ramo turned gave up four goals on 38 shots in the Flames 5-4 overtime win over the Bruins on Friday. Ramo has gone 4-1-1 with a 2.59 GAA and .899 SV% in his last six starts and tonight he will make his 15th start in the Flames’ last 16 games. He will start at home where he has done a lot of winning this year—Ramo is 6-2-0 with a 2.86 GAA and .900 SV% at Scotiabank Saddledome.
Anderson allowed three goals on 30 shots in the Senators loss in New York on Sunday. It wasn’t a bad outing when you consider he was starting his second game in as many nights Anderson has gone 6-3-0 with a 2.45 GAA and .924 SV% in his last nine starts. Tonight he will start in Florida, but he has struggled on the road this season, going 6-4-0 with a 3.21 GAA and .908 SV% this season.
Wiercioch has been a healthy scratch in the last two games, but will be back in the lineup tonight in Florida. Wiercioch has just three assists in 19 games this season. With Wiercioch back in the lineup, Shane Prince will be a healthy scratch and the Senators will go with seven defensemen.
The Senators will go with seven defensemen tonight, so Prince will be a healthy scratch in Florida. Patrick Wiercioch will take his spot in the lineup, but Mark Borowiecki is the blueliner who is expected to play some forward.
Turris missed the Senators morning skate, but will be in the lineup vs. the Panthers. Turris has no points in his last two games, but has one goal and four assists in his last six games.
Howard stopped 26 of 27 shots in the Red Wings win over the Coyotes on Thursday. Petr Mrazek started on Saturday and started the first two games vs. Washington this season, but tonight Howard gets a crack at the Capitals. Howard enters play having won four straight starts while registering a 2.43 GAA and .908 SV%. Despite a nice stretch, he is a risky start against a Capitals team that is 6-0-1 in their last seven.
Schneider made 34 saves on 36 shots in the Devils defeat of the Panthers on Sunday. The win snapped a two-game losing streak for Schenider, who is 12-7-3 on the year. Schneider has played well this season, especially on the road, where he is 7-2-0 with a 2.19 GAA and .930 SV%. He makes for an excellent start against a Maple Leafs team that is tied for 27th in the NHL in scoring.
