Miller missed Saturday’s game with a lower-body injury but he is healthy enough to return on Tuesday. Despite being ready to go, the Bruins did not confirm that Miller will be back in the lineup.
Rinne stopped all 20 shots that he faced in the Predators’ 7-0 shutout win over the Jets on Saturday. It was a nice outing for Rinne who allowed a combined 16 goals in his previous five games. Tonight he will face a Ducks team that has gone 5-1-2 while averaging 2.88 goals per game in their last nine.
Nugent-Hopkins returned to practice on Tuesday after missing Saturday’s game and Monday’s practice. RNH’s return to the ice is a good sign that he is feeling well enough to return to the lineup on Wednesday.
Manson missed Monday’s game with an illness and head coach Bruce Boudreau said that he will be a “game-time decision at best” tonight. Korbinian Holzer replaced Manson last night and could play there again tonight.
Hornqvist left Saturday’s game win an injury and missed Monday’s practice. However, he was on the ice for the Penguins’ morning skate which suggests that he will play tonight. There was no official word on Honrqvist’s status, so consider him a game-time decision.
Folin played just 7:52 on Saturday and was a minus-1. The Wild went with seven defensemen, but will shift back to six tonight, which means that Folin will be a healthy scratch.
Haula did not travel to Pittsburgh, so he will not play vs. the Penguins. With Haula out, the Wild have recalled Michael Keranen, who will be making his NHL debut.
Niemi allowed three goals on 30 shots in the Stars loss to the Maple Leafs last Tuesday. Kari Lehtonen has started five of the last six games, but they will go with Niemi tonight in Buffalo. Niemi has posted a 2.80 GAA and .907 SV% in 10 games this season, but draws a solid matchup tonight. Buffalo enters play at 8-8-1.
Quick gave up three goals on 25 shots in the Saturday’s victory over the Oilers. Quick hasn’t been great in November, registering a 2-3-0 record, 2.84 GAA and .883 SV% this month. However, things should turn around this week. It starts tonight vs. the NHL’s 29th ranked offence in Philadelphia.
Mitchell missed four games with an oblique injury in early November, played the last two games but will come back out of the lineup tonight in Toronto. With Mitchell out, Chris Wagner, who was claimed off of waivers will make his Avalanche debut.
Theodore, 20, was the 26th overall pick in 2013. The 6-foot-2, 186 lbs. blueliner has eight points (1G / 7A) in 13 games with San Diego this season. Theodore had 48 points (13G / 35A) in 43 games with Seattle (WHL) last season and 19 points (5G / 14A) in his first 22 career AHL games, so producing at the NHL level is the next step.
Bogosian will make his season debut tonight. Not the best matchup for a defenseman who missed the start of the season with a lower-body injury. The 25-year-old played an obscenely high 26:34 TOI with 2:32 coming on the power-play after being acquired by the Sabres last season. Bogosian had seven assists in 21 games with Buffalo and 20 points (3G / 10A) in 62 games overall. He is mobile for a big blueliner who possesses a heavy shot—30 points is not out of the realm of possibility.
Spaling is reportedly dealing with three different injuries so he will sit tonight vs. the Avalanche. With Spaling out, Brad Boyes will re-enter the lineup.
Neuvirth missed the majority of the morning skate with an undisclosed injury, so he will not dress tonight which means Jason LaBarbera will be recalled and backup Steve Mason. Consider him day-to-day.
Elliott allowed two goals on 16 shots after replacing Jake Allen in the Blues’ loss in New Your last Thursday. Jake Allen has taken over the starting job, but he started last night, so the Blues will go with Elliott tonight in Columbus. The Blue Jackets have won four of six, but Elliott needs a good outing if he’s going to play more games.
Fleury allowed two goals on 28 shots in the Penguins’ loss to the Blue Jackets on Friday. Jeff Zatkoff started on Saturday so they will go back to Fleury tonight vs. the Wild. Fleury has lost two of his last three while posting a 3.00 GAA and .903 SV%. He draws a tough matchup vs. a Wild team that has quietly gone 10-3-3 in their first 16 games.
Mason gave up two goals on 21 shots in the Flyers’ win over the Hurricanes on Saturday. It was a nice bounce-back performance for Mason, who will make his third straight start tonight.
