Hossa, who missed the morning skate will not play tonight vs. the Kings. Hossa’s injury is not believed to be serious and he is hopeful that he will be back on Wednesday vs. St. Louis.
Tavares missed both games this weekend and Monday’s practice. Head coach Jack Capuano said after the session that Tavares is still very sick and that he doesn’t “expect him [back] for a little bit.” It seems highly unlikely that Tavares will be available for Tuesday’s game vs. New Jersey.

Niemi enters Monday’s game at 6-1-0 with a 2.61 GAA and .915 SV%. He is a must-start vs. a Maple Leafs team who is averaging just 2.00 goals per game.
Miller allowed four goals on 29 shots in the Canucks loss in Dallas last Thursday. Miller was given a much deserved rest on Friday, but he will be back in goal tonight vs. the Flyers. Miller has enjoyed a nice start to the season, posting a 2.16 GAA and .923 SV% in 10 starts. He draws a great matchup vs. a Flyers team that is 28th in the NHL in scoring.
Jagr missed the Panthers’ back-to-back on the weekend, but he was back at practice on Monday which is a good sign that the veteran winger will be available for Wednesday’s game in Anaheim.

Crawford allowed three goals on 31 shots in the Blackhawks loss in Winnipeg on Thursday. He was given Friday night off, but will be back in goal tonight vs. Los Angeles. Thursday’s loss snapped a four-game wining streak for Crawford, who is 5-3-0 with a 1.76 GAA and .938 SV% in eight starts. He has been great on home ice, going 4-1-0 with a 1.21 GAA and .953 SV%.
Schneider allowed two goals on 26 shots in the Devils shootout win over the Islanders on Saturday. The Devils were not expected to win a lot this season, but Schneider has won six out of his last seven starts while posting a 2.23 GAA and .913 SV% over that span. Tonight he will face the Isles again, but this time on the road. He catches a break with John Tavares likely out.
Spaling missed the last three games, but will be back in the Maple Leafs’ lineup on Monday vs. the Stars. Spaling will centre the third line with Joffrey Lupul and Daniel Winnik on his wings. He has one assist in seven games this season.

Reimer allowed four goals on 24 shots in a loss to the Coyotes in his last outing. He has one win in four starts while posting a sub-par 3.25 GAA and .876 SV%.
Bickell cleared waivers back on October 3rd, but stayed with the team through the first month of the season. Bickell served as a healthy scratch in four of the last five games. He had no points and a minus-3 rating in seven games this season.
Dano, 20, has seven points (1G / 6A) in nine games with Rockford. Dano’s recall means that the young forward could make his Blackhawks debut on Monday vs. the Kings. He has 21 points (8G / 13A) in 35 career NHL games.
Shaw failed to record a point in his NHL debut and now returns to Portland where he had two goals in five games before being called up. With Shaw going back to the minors, the Panthers have recalled Garrett Wilson.
Wilson, 24, has four assists in seven games with Portland this season. With his recall, the 24-year-old could be making his Panthers’ season debut on Wednesday. Wilson has no points in five career NHL games.
Bernier allowed four goals on 32 shots in the Maple Leafs loss to the Penguins on Saturday. Bernier has lost all seven of his starts while posting a 3.02 GAA and .899 SV%. It has been a very difficult start to the season for the Maple Leafs, but it looks as if head coach Mike Babcock will use Bernier as a clear-cut No. 1 starter. This will be his sixth start in seven games.
