
Boyle missed the morning skate because he didn’t feel well when he woke up this morning. Boyle is listed as a game-time decision and will likely be replaced by J.T Brown if he is unable to play.
Beleskey was held out of Wednesday’s game but he skated in the morning skate and it appears as if he will play tonight vs. the Islanders. Beleskey has one goal and one assist in five games this season. Monitor his status prior to game-time and during pre-game warmups.
Smith has served as a healthy scratch in the last two games but will get back into the lineup tonight in Calgary. Smith will be paired with Jonathan Ericsson and is expected to see some power-play time on the second unit. He has no points and one shot on goal in four games this season.
Richards has been sent back to Detroit to get tests on his back and he will miss the remaining two games of the road trip. Richards is dealing with a back injury and his status should be updated in the next 48 hours. Dylan Larkin will move to centre with Richards out and Joakim Andersson will draw into the lineup.
Kuemper allowed two goals on 37 shots in the Wild’s loss in Los Angeles on October 16th. It was a nice start for Kuemper, who entered last season as the Wild’s starter, but has clearly fallen well behind Devan Dubnyk on the depth chart. Kuemper will start the second half of the back-to-back vs. a Winnipeg team that is sixth in the NHL in scoring.
Dubnyk allowed two goals on 29 shots in the Wild’s win over the Blue Jackets on Thursday. Dubnyk has won four of five starts while posting a 2.81 GAA and .896 SV% to start the 2015-16 season. Tonight he will face a talented Ducks team that is struggling mightily to score.
Crawford allowed two goals on 18 shots in the Blackhawks win over the Panthers on Thursday. Crawford has won three of his first five starts this season while posting a 2.21 GAA and .917 SV%. He comes into Saturday on a two game winning streak, but draws a tough matchup vs. the Lightning.
Schneider allowed four goals on 39 shots in the Devils’ win over the Senators on Thursday. Schneider has won three straight games while posting a 2.24 GAA and .919 SV% over that span. On Saturday he has a good chance to make that four consecutive wins when he faces a Buffalo team who was spanked 7-2 on Friday.
Lundqvist made 34 saves on 35 shots in the Rangers win over the Coyotes on Thursday. The win snapped a three-game losing skid for Lundqvist, who has been outstanding so far this season. Through seven starts he has registered a 1.99 GAA and .938 SV%. He makes for a good start tonight against a Flyers team still searching for their scoring touch early in the season.
After being helped off of the ice at practice this afternoon, Schwartz was taken to the hospital to have his leg examined. This obviously is not good news for Schwartz or the Blues, who are expected to give a full update on Saturday morning. With Schwartz out and Robby Fabbri still sidelined, the Blues have recalled Ty Rattie from Chicago (AHL).
Elliott gave up two goals on 29 shots in the Blues win in Winnipeg last Sunday. He was given Tuesday night off, but will be back in goal tonight vs. the Islanders. Elliott has won all four of his starts this season while limiting the opposition to just two goals per game and posting a .918 SV%.
Mattie, 22, has tore up the AHL to start the season. The 2011 32nd overall pick has scored four goals with three assists (seven points) in three games with Chicago. He will make his season debut on Saturday with Robby Fabbri (concussion) and Jaden Schwartz (leg) sidelined. He has two assists in 13 NHL games.
Despite practicing throughout the week, Shattenkirk will miss his fifth consecutive game. With that said, he is definitely nearing a return and should be back in the lineup next week.
Despite practicing on Friday, Fabbri is not ready to go on Saturday. With Fabbri out and Jaden Schwartz suffering an injury in practice the Blues will recall Ty Rattie from the AHL and he will play on Saturday. Monitor Fabbri’s status heading into next week.
Quick made 22 saves on 23 shots in the Kings win over the Avalanche on Sunday. He opened the season with three straight losses, but has now won two in a row while stopping 47 of 49 shots (.959 SV%). He was given last night off, so it is no surprise to see him back in goal tonight vs. the Hurricanes.
Prosser has only appeared in one game this season and has been a healthy scratch for the last three contests. There is no word on who will be coming out of the lineup, but that should be revealed in Saturday’s morning skate.
Gardiner missed Wednesday’s game in Buffalo and will miss Saturday’s in Montreal because of an undisclosed injury. Moving him to IR allows the Maple Leafs to recall someone without having to send anyone down. He is considered day-to-day until the Leafs release the nature and severity of his injury.
Bozak has missed the last two games and being placed on IR rules him out of Saturday’s game in Montreal. However, he is eligible to come off of IR next week, but moving him to IR allows the Maple Leafs to recall a forward without sending anyone down.
Bishop allowed four goals on 33 shots in the Lightning’s loss in Nashville on Tuesday. Bishop has lost three of his last four starts while posting an .891 SV%. On Friday he takes on a Jets team who ranks sixth in the NHL in scoring—averaging 3.33 goals per game.
