Chara has a permanently torn PCL in his left knee.

Chara said that his PCL is permanently torn, but it is something that he won’t need surgery on. His knee is stabilized and healed, but it will be something that he will need to play through for the remainder of his career. It was obvious that Chara was slowed this season and now you know why.

Zdeno Chara
Bouma (upper-body) remains day-to-day.

Bouma missed the final two games of the regular season and missed Monday’s practice as well. His absence suggests that he won’t be available for game 1, but the Flames have an abundance of young forwards on the roster right now, so they’ll have no problem putting a quality product on the ice.

Lance Bouma
Perreault (lower-body) missed Monday’s practice but probable to play in Game 1.

Despite missing Monday’s practice, head coach Paul Maurice called the chance of Perreault playing in game 1 “substantial.” Perreault missed the season finale, but will be a key to the Jets playoff success. He had 18 goals and 23 assists in 62 games this season.

Mathieu Perreault
Franson (upper-body) did not practice on Monday; remains day-to-day.

Franson was held out of the season finale and missed Monday’s practice, which clouds his availability for Game 1 on Wednesday. He will look to get back on the ice on Tuesday.

Cody Franson
The Devils have re-signed Keith Kinkaid to a two-year, $1.45 million contract extension.

Kinkaid, 25, was 6-5-4 with a 2.59 GAA and .915 SV% in his rookie season. He signs a two-year, one-way deal that will see him serve as Cory Schneider’s back-up through the 2016-17 season.

Keith Kinkaid
Hemsky will have offseason hip surgery; expected to rehab for 4-5 months.

Hemsky had a disappointing season, scoring just 11 goals with 21 assists (32 points) in 76 games. He is expected to rehab for about four month so he should be ready for training camp in September.

Ales Hemsky
Benn will have offseason hip surgery; expected to rehab for 4-5 months.

Benn had a crazy four-point season finale and five goals and five assists in his last three games to win the Art Ross Trophy this season. He played all 82 games, but will go under the knife after the Stars were eliminated from the playoffs. Benn is expected to be ready for training camp.

Jamie Benn
Mrazek will be the Red Wings starter in Game 1.

Mrazek posted a 35-save shutout in the Red Wings 2-0 win over the Hurricanes in the season finale. The shutout put a stamp on Mrazek being the game 1 starter vs. the Lightning. He went 16-9-2 with a 2.38 GAA and .918 SV% with the Red Wings this season. He was pulled in his first start against Tampa Bay, but posted a 23-save shutout in his second.

Petr Mrazek
Garrison (upper-body) is not expected to be ready this week.

Garrison missed the final six games of the regular season and was not available for practice on Monday morning. Garrison is expected to miss at least the first two games of the playoffs, but could be ready next week.

Jason Garrison
Sustr (upper-body) is expected to play in Game 1.

Sustr missed the final six games of the regular season but was in practice on Monday and he is hopeful that he will return to the lineup in Game 1. He skated as an extra this morning, which is not a good sign, but he has two more days to get ready.
