Akeson, 24, had no points in 12 games when he was with the Flyers back in November. Since heading to the AHL, he has recorded 42 points (20G / 22A) in 46 games with Lehigh Valley.
Alt, 23, will make his NHL debut this afternoon vs. the Sharks. Alt was a second round pick (53rd overall) of the Hurricanes back in 2010. In 33 games with Lehigh Valley this season, Alt has registered seven points (1G / 6A).
Lauridsen, 26, had two goals and one assist in 15 games with the Flyers in the 2012-13 season. He has not played at the NHL level since that season—in 64 games with Lehigh Valley, he has six points (3G / 3A) this season. He will be paired with Mark Alt, who was also recalled this morning.
Colaiacovo is day-to-day with an illness. Mark Alt has been recalled and will replace Colaiacovo this afternoon. Expect Colaiacovo to be available next Wednesday in Pittsburgh.
Streit is day-to-day with an illness. Oliver Lauridsen has been recalled and will replace Streit this afternoon. Expect Streit to be back in the lineup next Wednesday in Pittsburgh.
Kinkaid made 28 saves on 29 shots in the Devils win over the Sabres last Friday. In his last four outings (two starts) Kinkaid has registered a 1.39 GAA and .951 SV%. The first time he faced the Hurricanes was in a relief effort, he stopped all 17 shots that he faced in 33:59 of work.
Hammond was reportedly battling an injury prior to his last start, but he played through it. With Craig Anderson back, Hammond will be held out of tonight’s game in Toronto. There is no word whether or not he will dress as the backup.
de Haan was a minus-1 in 14:57 on Thursday. He will be a healthy scratch for the second time in the Islanders last four games. Lubomir Visnovsky will be back in the lineup for de Haan.
Visnovsky missed the last five games with a lower-body injury, but will be in the lineup today vs. the Ducks. Visnovsky has 15 points (4G / 11A) in 46 games this season.
Hornqvist missed the last five games with an undisclosed injury, but will be back in the lineup today vs. the Coyotes. Hornqvist has 55 points (23G / 22A) in 56 games this season and will play on a line with Sidney Crosby today, so make sure he is active in all formats.
Malkin has missed the last six games with a lower-body injury, but will return today vs. the Coyotes. While Malkin was out the Penguins went 1-4-1, so they will be pumped up to get him back in this afternoon. Malkin has 68 points (28G / 40A) in 63 games and he should make a sudden impact and should be deployed with confidence.
Lundqvist will start his first game since February 2nd. Lundqvist had a tough start to the season, but he has gone 16-5-0 in his last 21 starts. He comes into play with a 2.25 GAA and .922 SV% on the season and will take on a Bruins team who have dropped six straight games at the worst time of the season.
Kadri has served his four game suspension and he is expected to be in the lineup tonight vs. the Senators. Kadri has two goals and twos assists in his last 10 games. Kadri is expected to centre the second line with Joffrey Lupul and David Booth on his wings.
Smith-Pelly played just 8:57 on Thursday and it looks like he will be a healthy scratch tonight vs. the Panthers. He has one assist, a minus-4 rating and 20 shots in 15 games since being traded to Montreal.
Fiala was a minus-1 while playing 11:25 in the only game he played in during his recall. His return to the minors suggests that Matt Cullen will be back in the lineup on Saturday.
Price allowed three goals on 31 shots in the Canadiens 3-2 OT loss to the Predators on Tuesday. Price comes into play on Saturday having gone 4-4-2 with a 1.90 GAA and .941 SV% in his last 10 starts. Tonight he will face a Panthers team who are 3-3-0 while averaging 2.33 goals per game in his last six games.
Varlamov was yanked after allowing three goals on seven shots in the Avs’ loss to the Oilers on Wednesday. He was given Thursday night off as well, but draws a great matchup tonight vs. the Sabres. Varlamov comes in with a 6-1-1 record, 1.97 GAA and .939 SV% in March.
Mason made 34 saves on 35 shots in the Flyers 4-1 win over the Blackhawks on Wednesday. He has been dreadful on the road, but excellent at home this season, so he should make for a nice start today vs. the visiting Sharks. Mason has gone 14-5-3 with a 1.93 GAA and .938 SV% at Wells Fargo Center.
The Panthers run to the playoffs will come without their leading scorer after Nick Bjugstad had season-ending lower back surgery on Friday. Bjugstad had 24 goals and 19 assists in 72 games this season for the Panthers, but had been hampered by a mysterious 'lower body' injury over the past few weeks.It has been an issue for awhile and the Panthers felt it was important to get the procedure done as soon as possible.
Holtby allowed two goals on 31 shots in the Capitals 3-2 overtime win against the Devils on Thursday. Holtby was won four of his last five starts while posting a 1.77 GAA, .940 SV% and one shutout. Tonight he takes on a Capitals team who have turned things around, winning three straight.
