Varone, 24, had two goals in seven games with the Sabres. Varone heads back to the AHL where he has 29 points (8G / 21A) in 36 games.

The Sabres have sent Matt Ellis back to Rochester (AHL).
Ellis appeared in four games during his recall. He has three shots, two penalty minutes and a minus-2 rating. With the Sabres done until after the All Star break, they send Ellis back as they expect a few forwards to return after the break.
Borowiecki (leg) returned to Senators practice on Monday.
Borowiecki has missed the last nine games, but was back at practice this morning. He likely won’t be in the lineup on Tuesday, but should be back by the end of the All Star break.

The Predators have sent Viktor Stalberg back to Milwaukee (AHL).
Stalberg has registered three assists in 10 games with the Predators. He heads back to Milwaukee where he has two goals and four assists in six games.
Goalie Start
Halak will start Monday vs. the Flyers.
Halak gave up six goals on 33 shots in the Islanders 6-4 loss to the Canadiens on Saturday. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak, but despite a terrible evening, they will go back to Halak tonight vs. Philadelphia. In his first start against the Flyers, he posted a 21-save shutout.
Parenteau missed Monday’s practice with concussion-like symptoms.
Parenteau missed Saturday’s game with what was called an illness, presumably that illness was concussion-like symptoms that will keep him out of practice today as well. He is questionable for Tuesday’s game vs. Nashville.
Price (upper-body) is on the ice for Habs' practice this morning.
Price missed Saturday's game with an upper-body injury, but with Joey MacDonald being sent back to Hamilton (AHL) and Price's availability for practice this morning, it appears as if he will be good to go tomorrow vs. Nashville.

Zepp will start again on Monday.
Zepp allowed three goals on 27 shots in the Flyers 4-3 win over the Sabres on Saturday. Since being recalled, he has gone 2-1-0 with a 2.21 GAA and .908 SV% in three starts and one relief appearance. He will faced an Islanders team who have won four of five while averaging 4.2 goals per game.

Bernier will start for the Maple Leafs.
Bernier allowed three goals on 33 shots in the Maple Leafs 3-0 loss to the Blues on Saturday. He has lost three in a row and the team has not scored a single goal in front of him in those three contests. He sits at 1-5-0 with a 2.88 GAA and .887 SV% in January. He allowed three goals on 36 shots in a 4-1 loss in his first start vs. Carolina.

The Blue Jackets sent Sean Collins back to Springfield (AHL) on Sunday.
Collins, who was most recently recalled on December 30, has collected two assists with two penalty minutes in eight games with Columbus this season. He has also recorded 19 points (10G / 9A) and 14 penalty minutes with an even plus/minus rating in 28 games with Springfield.

The Canadiens sent Joey MacDonald back to Hamilton (AHL) on Sunday.
MacDonald being sent down suggests that Carey Price is ready to go for Tuesday’s game against the Predators.
Goalie Start
Stalock is the Sharks probable starter on Monday.
Stalock allowed two goals on seven shots after replacing Antti Niemi on January 8th. Niemi has started the last five games, but it look like it will be Stalock tonight vs. the Devils. He is 5-4-1 with a 2.43 GAA and .912 SV% on the year. He draws a strong matchup with the Devils in town.

Schneider (head) is set to start on Monday.
Schneider made 14 saves on 15 shots before leaving Friday’s game in Anaheim. Schneider passed the concussion protocol tests and is ready to start tonight in San Jose. He comes in at 3-1-0 with a 2.09 GAA and .927 SV% in January. He allowed three goals on 31 shots in a loss in his first start vs. the Sharks.

Miller is likely to start on Monday in Florida.
Miller stopped all 28 shots that he faced in the Canucks’ 3-0 shutout win over the Hurricanes on Friday. Miller stopped all 58 shots fired his way on the Canucks Thursday and Friday back-to-back, recording his fourth and fifth shutout of the year. Tonight, he will look to continue his shutout streak in Florida.

Ortio will make his fourth straight start on Monday.
Ortio stopped 19 of 22 shots in the Flames 4-3 OT win over the Sharks. He joined the Flames in the middle of a West Coast road-trip and has gone 3-0-0 with a 1.33 GAA and .953 SV%. He will look to continue his winning ways tonight, but has another tough matchup in Los Angeles.
Ristolainen will be a healthy scratch on Sunday.
The Sabres will sit Ristolainen tonight vs. the Red Wings and he will be replaced by Andrej Meszaros. Ristolainen has one assist and a minus-5 rating in his last eight games.
Goalie Start
Enroth will start for the Sabres on Sunday night.
Enroth allowed seven goals on 37 shots in the Sabres 7-2 loss to the Wild on Thursday. Enroth has lost six in a row and has not won a game since December 27th. He has not faced the Red Wings yet this season, but has gone 3-8-1 with a 3.71 GAA and .897 SV%.
