Reports are that Phaneuf aggravated a hand injury in a fight with Eric Staal on Monday and then made it worse while fighting Milan Michalek on Wednesday. With Phaneuf out, the Maple Leafs recalled Petter Granberg.

Letang missed last Wednesday’s game with a head injury that he suffered on Tuesday vs. the Flyers. He was back at practice on Monday and said he thinks he will be back in the lineup tomorrow after practice went “really well” today.
Malkin is not expected to skate over the next few days, so he is expected to miss at least the next two games. The Penguins said they won’t have too much information on Malkin’s injury until he starts skating, but when that will happen remains unclear at this point.
