Braun will be out for “weeks” according to coach Todd McLellan. Braun suffered an upper-body injury in Monday’s loss to New Jersey and will be missed on the Sharks’ blue line for at least a couple of weeks. With Braun out, San Jose recalled Dylan Demelo from Worcester (AHL).
Varlamov allowed three goals on 30 shots in the Avalanche 3-1 loss to the Blues on Monday. He has lost his last two starts, but has gone 4-2-1 with a 2.01 GAA and .947 SV% in his last seven starts. He draws an average matchup against an improving Bruins who will be in the second game of a back-to-back set.
Ortio allowed one goal on 34 shots in the Flames win in Los Angeles on Monday. Since being recalled, Ortio has been unbelievable. He has won all four of his starts while posting a 1.23 GAA and .958 SV%. On Wednesday it looks like he will get his fifth straight start in Anaheim.
Rask allowed two goals on 30 shots in the Bruins loss to the Blue Jackets on Saturday. The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for Rask, who will start the first game of their back-to-back tonight in Dallas. He has been a miserable 5-6-2 with a 2.86 GAA and .907 SV% on the road this season.
Lehtonen turned aside 38 of 41 shots in the Stars 6-3 win over the Blackhawks on Sunday. He has been under siege as of late, but has made 66 saves on 73 shots (.904 SV%) in winning efforts in his last two starts. Dallas is not good defensively, which will hurt Lehtonen’s numbers, but he continues to rack up wins.
Miller allowed a single goal on 24 shots in the Canucks win in Florida last night. Despite the back-to-back, Miller will start again tonight, in the Canucks last game before the All Star break. He has won three in a row while posting a 0.33 GAA, .988 SV% and two shutouts. He is as hot as they come, but does have a scary matchup tonight in Tampa Bay.
Wotherspoon, 21, has been recalled to serve as the Flames seventh defenseman with Ladislav Smid going on IR. Wotherspoon has two goals and 13 assists (15 points) in 38 games AHL games. He had four assists in 14 games with the Flames last season .
Shore, 23, did not record a point in the only game that he appeared in with the Flames. He heads to Adirondack, where he is expected to make his debut with the team this week. He has 30 AHL points (9G / 21A) in 35 games with San Antonio this season.
Ramo has missed the last five games with an upper-body injury, but could be back in goal on Wednesday. The Flames placed Ladislav Smid on IR to make room for Ramo to be activated, so they will carry three goalies for the time being.
Smid, who recently missed 10 games with an upper-body injury, will be out of the lineup again, for an undetermined amount of time. His placement on IR allowed the Flames to activate Karri Ramo.

Boedker injured his spleen in the game against Winnipeg on Sunday and had it removed on that night. Boedker, who has 14 goals and 14 assists (28 points) in 45 games will be out of the Coyotes lineup for at least one month.
Komarov continues to skate with the team, but is not ready to return to the lineup. He will miss his fifth straight game, but look for him to be back next Wednesday in New Jersey.
Bozak missed practice this morning to return home for personal reasons. He is expected to meet the team in Ottawa for tomorrow’s contest vs. the Senators. Bozak will not skate with Phil Kessel and James van Riemsdyk.
Trouba was a full participant in practice on Tuesday and said after the skate that when he returns will be up to coach Paul Maurice. Trouba’s return would be a huge boost to a Jets team who currently sit in playoff spot in the West.
Witkowski will replace Mark Barberio in the lineup tonight vs. Vancouver. Witkowski is a physical blue liner who will help replace some of the physicality the Lightning are lacking since losing Radko Gudas. He has six points (1G / 5A) in 36 games with Syracuse this season.
Comeau has been out since December 22nd and the only update that has been available is that he would miss “several weeks”. He has been sidelined for nearly one month already, so the X-rays should provide a more detailed timeline for his return.
There has been a very limited amount of updates on Hornqvist’s status, but it sounds like we will get an exact timetable sometime this week. He will miss his 11th straight game tonight.
Gormley has missed the last four games with a lower-body injury, but it looks like he will be back in the lineup tonight in Chicago. Gormley looks like he will be played with Philip Samuelsson.
