Varlamov is day-to-day with a groin injury; will not play on Tuesday.

Varlamov is still battling a groin injury that cost him to miss six games from November 15th-December 3rd. There is no word on who will be called up, but if it is Calvin Pickard, he will get the start. Groin injuries with goalies are tricky, so Varly could be held out for awhile.

Semyon Varlamov
Darling starts for the Hawks on Tuesday.

Darling stopped 32 of 33 shots in his return to the Blackhawks goal on Saturday. He has won three of four games with a 1.73 GAA and .943 SV% with Chicago this season. He makes for a good spot-start option tonight vs. a low-scoring Devils team.

Scott Darling
Green (upper-body) will not travel to Tampa Bay.

Green will miss his seventh straight game with an upper-body injury. The Capitals are back in Washington on Thursday, so monitor Green’s status leading up to their game vs. the Blue Jackets.

Mike Green
Enroth is likely to start in goal on Tuesday.

Enroth surrendered five goals on 35 shots in the Sabres’ 5-0 loss to the Lightning on Thursday. The Sabres were dominated the second time around vs. Tampa Bay, but Enroth did all he could. He will be in tough again tonight with the defending Cup Champs in the building.

Jhonas Enroth
Backstrom starts in goal for Minnesota on Tuesday.

Backstrom stopped all three shots that he faced in relief of Darcy Kuemper on Friday. Backstrom has made six starts and three relief appearances this season—he has gone 3-2-1 with a 1.97 GAA and .917 SV% so far. He draws a tough assignment tonight with the red-hot Isles in town.

Niklas Backstrom
Schneider will be in goal on Monday.

Schneider allowed three goals on 28 shots in the Devils loss to the Capitals on Saturday. That makes five losses in Schneider’s last six starts, while posting a 2.51 GAA and .916 SV%. It hasn’t been a pretty season for Schneider, who will take on the Hurricanes, who are in the second game of a back-to-back. Schneider has gone 7-8-0 with a 2.71 GAA and .913 SV% on the road.

Cory Schneider
Sharp (leg) expected to return to the Blackhawks lineup on Tuesday.

Sharp took part in Blackhawks practice on Monday and skated on a line with Andrew Shaw and Bryan Bickell. It looks like he will be back in tomorrow vs. the Devils, which is great news for Sharp owners, who have been without their stud winger since November 4th.

Patrick Sharp
Hiller starts vs. the Leafs on Tuesday.

Hiller allowed three goals on 29 shots in the Flames loss to the Ducks on November 25th. He sat and watched Karri Ramo start the last five games, but will get back between the pipes tonight in Toronto. Hiller is 5-4-0 with a 2.58 GAA and .921 SV% on the road this season.

Jonas Hiller
Visnovsky (upper-body) has a “good chance” of returning on Tuesday.

Visnovsky has missed the last four games with an upper-body ailment, but was back at practice last Friday and is expected to play on Tuesday vs. the Wild. His return likely means that Griffin Reinhart will come out and head back to Bridgeport (AHL). Visnovsky has one goal and five assists in 17 games this season.

Lubomir Visnovsky
Dubinsky (abdomen) will make his season debut on Tuesday.

Dubinsky will make his long-awaited return to the Blue Jackets lineup on Tuesday against the Flyers. Dubinsky had surgery on his abdomen in the preseason and missed the first 26 games of the season. He will skate with Matt Calvert and Cam Atkinson on his wings.

Brandon Dubinsky
Raymond (upper-body) is expected to play on Tuesday.

Raymond has been sidelined by an upper-body injury since October 25th, but it looks like he will be back in tomorrow vs. the Maple Leafs. Raymond is expected to skate on a line with Markus Granlund and Paul Byron in his return to the lineup.

Mason Raymond
Letang (groin) is unlikely to play on Monday.

Letang was on the ice for the Penguins’ morning skate on Monday, but did not take part in line rushes and was not very involved in drills. It looks like Letang will miss a fifth straight game, but being on the ice for the morning skate, is a good sign that he should be back this week.

Kris Letang
Schneider is expected to get the nod for the Devils on Monday.

Steen (lower-body) is not expected to play on Monday.

Steen, who missed Saturday’s game on Long Island, did not take part in the Blues morning skate, which suggests that he will miss a second straight game. Steen’s injury is not believed to be serious, so consider him day-to-day.
