NHL Hockey Player News

The Bruins recalled Alexander Khokhlachev from Providence (AHL) on an emergency basis.

Khokhlachev has skated in 15 games for the Providence Bruins this season, recording five goals (first on the team) and 11 assists (second on the team) for 16 points (tied for first on the team) with a plus-two rating. In total, the forward has appeared in 91 games with Providence from 2012 to 2014, racking up 28 goals and 48 assists.

Alexander Khokhlachev
Emery will start in goal for the Flyers.

Emery allowed six goals on 28 shots in a loss to the Habs on Saturday. It was a brutal outing for Emery, who has allowed 10 combined goals in his last two starts. He will get the call tonight vs. the Wild, as the Flyers try to snap a three-game losing skid.

Ray Emery
Barkov (illness) will play on Thursday.

Barkov missed Tuesday’s game with an illness, but he will be back in tonight vs. the Sharks. Barkov has been in an out of the lineup frequently as of late, but Barkov owners are hoping he can stay in the lineup for an extended period of time and start racking up points. He is worth adding to your watch list after this slow start.

Aleksander Barkov
Luongo gets the nod vs. San Jose.

Luongo gave up four goals on 25 shots in the Panthers loss to the Kings on Tuesday. Bobby Lu has gone 2-2-2 with a 2.58 GAA and .915 SV% in six November starts. Tonight he will face the Sharks for the second time this season; he made 25 saves in a 4-1 win last Tuesday in Florida.

Roberto Luongo
Andersen starts vs. Vancouver.

Andersen gave up three goals on just 19 Flames shots in the Ducks shootout loss on Tuesday. That is now six losses in a row for Andersen, who has posted a 2.91 GAA and .887 SV% over than span and was pulled twice. Despite his recent struggles, Jason LaBarbera poses no threat to his starting job and Andersen should continue to start regularly, making him a great fantasy asset.

Frederik Andersen
Upshall (undisclosed) not expected to play on Thursday.

Upshall missed the entire third period on Tuesday vs. the Kings and was not on the ice for the Panthers’ game day skate. Sean Bergenheim and Rocco Grimaldi were splitting time in Upshall’s spot, so don’t look for him to be in the lineup tonight in San Jose.

Scottie Upshall
Smith is the Coyotes expected starter.

Smith allowed two goals on 24 shots in the Coyotes’ OT loss to Washington on Tuesday. Smith has dropped four in a row while allowed 12 goals on 114 shots (.895 SV%). Tonight, it looks like he will start vs. on of his former teams. The Stars are really struggling right now, but there are better options than Smith on a busy Thursday.

Mike Smith
Andersen was the first goalie off at the Ducks morning skate.

Adam Clendening will make his NHL debut on Thursday.

Clendening, 22, was recalled when Trevor van Riemsdyk went out with a knee injury and should be able to stick with the Hawks in TVR’s spot for the next 3-4 months. Clendening is an averaged sized with above average offensive instincts. He can move the puck around with ease, which is why he will see second power-play minutes in his debut.

Adam Clendening
Harrison (lower-body) will return to the Hurricanes lineup on Thursday.

Harrison will replace John-Michael Liles on the Hurricanes blue line after missing the last three games with a lower-body injury. He has one goal and two assists in 13 games this season. He should be featured on the ‘Canes second power-play unit with Liles out.
