The Anaheim Ducks recently brought in veteran goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov so the expectation is that Gibson will get sent down and play the remainder of the season with Norfolk (AHL). Gibson played well, going 2-2-0 with 2.28 GAA and .927 SV% before getting hurt, but it looks like the Ducks believe it will be best for his development if he heads back to the AHL. Obviously, how long he stays down there will all depend on injuries and the play of Bryzgalov and Frederik Andersen, as well as Gibson’s with Norfolk.
Bourque skated on the top line with Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry in the Ducks’ morning skate and it looks like he and Matt Beleskey will swap spots tonight vs. the Wild.
