Lupul is taking part in his first practice since breaking his hand.

Maple Leafs’ head coach Randy Carlyle said that Lupul should go through two or three practices before returning to the lineup, so don’t expect to see him out there tomorrow, but maybe Saturday vs. the Red Wings. He has been out since October 28th.

Joffrey Lupul
Hanzal was a late scratch for Tuesday’s game because of a lower-body injury.

“Hanzal come off [Tuesday] morning complaining he didn’t feel good,” said head coach Dave Tippett. “He went to try to warmup but said he couldn’t play.” Hanzal should be considered day-to-day until there are more details on Hanzal’s ailment.

Martin Hanzal
Russell missed Tuesday’s game due to a lower-body injury.

Russell was on the ice for the Flames morning skate, but was scratched shortly before Tuesday’s win over the Ducks. He has had a great first month and a half of the season, so the Flames are hoping that this is no more than a day-to-day injury. Rapheal Diaz will play as long as Russell is out.

Kris Russell
Garbutt did not play Tuesday because of an upper-body injury.

Garbutt left the ice during Tuesday’s morning skate with an upper-body injury and it forced him to miss Tuesday’s loss to the Hurricanes. There is no indication of what kind of injury Garbutt is dealing with, but consider him day-to-day for now.

Ryan Garbutt
Neuvirth left Tuesday’s game with a lower-body injury and did not return.

Sabres’ head coach Ted Nolan said that Neuvirth will be evaluated but “it’s not going to be day-to-day.” This is a tough break for Neuvirth who has played very well for a struggling Sabres team. This will leave Jhonas Enroth as the teams number-1 and with Matt Hackett nowhere close to ready, either Nathan Lieuwen or Andrey Makarov is expected to be recalled.

Michal Neuvirth
Nichushkin underwent successful hip surgery on Tuesday and is expected to miss four months.

The Stars prospect has had a difficult time getting his NHL career started on the right track. He was hampered by a sore hip to start the year and now this surgery will keep him out until the middle of March which will have him return for the final 10-15 games of the season. For re-draft leagues he is safe to drop, while in deep keeper leagues he is worth stashing away in your IR.

Valeri Nichushkin
Fleury leads the Penguins onto the ice for warmups.

Fleury gave up two goals on 31 shots in a win over the Rangers in the shootout on Saturday. He has been great all season long, winning 10 of 13 starts with a 2.13 GAA and .925 SV%. It looks like he gets the start in his him Province tonight, get him in your lineup.

Marc-Andre Fleury
Rinne leads the Preds onto the ice for warmups.

Rinne stopped 21 of 22 shots in the Predators win over the Jets on Saturday. He continutes to play excellent, having won five of his last six while allowing 11 goals on 163 shots (.933 SV%). He is a must-start in all formats.

Pekka Rinne
Miller (shoulder) expected to return to the Bruins lineup on Tuesday.

Miller has been out since October 18th with a shoulder injury but with Zach Trotman be assigned to Providence (AHL) before game time, it looks like Miller will be back in the lineup tonight.

The Bruins have sent Zach Trotman to Providence (AHL).

Trotman had two assists with a minus-1 rating while averaging 15:16 TOI in nine games during his recall. It was a good stint for the 24-year-old, who has been returned to the AHL because Kevan Miller is set to return from a shoulder injury.

Zach Trotman
Rask leads the Bruins onto the ice for warmups.

Rask stopped 33 of 34 shots in the Bruins 2-1 victory over the Hurricanes on Saturday. He has won four of his last five with a 2.25 GAA and .919 SV%. He is elite, but tonight’s matchup is real tough. The Blues have won 10 of their last 11 games.

Tuukka Rask
Talbot will start on Wednesday.

Talbot allowed five goals on 31 shots in the Rangers 5-4 loss to the Maple Leafs on November 8th. The Rangers are 1-2-2 in their last five games behind Henrik Lundqvist, so Talbot will get a chance to pick up his first win of the season tonight vs. the Flyers. Philly ranks third in the NHL in scoring, but are a .500 team, making Talbot a decent spot-start option in a quiet night in the NHL.
