NHL Hockey Player News

Kuemper suffered an upper-body injury in practice this morning and will not back-up Ilya Bryzgalov.

Bryzgalov will be backed up tonight by Rob Laurie, a 43-year-old who in the last calendar year has served as an emergency goalie for the Anaheim Ducks and most recently the Vancouver Canucks against Anaheim in January. He has been signed to a pro tryout. Kuemper is listed as day-to-day.

Darcy Kuemper
Gazdic will undergo season ending shoulder surgery.

Gazdic had two goals and two assists with a 127 penalty minutes in 67 games this season. The Oilers have lost each of their tough, fourth line players in the last week. Will Acton will be recalled.

Luke Gazdic
Pavelec gets the start for the Jets.

Pavelec was pulled after allowing three goals on 16 shots in a loss to the Kings on Saturday. With Al Montoya battling an injury, the Jets will turn to Pavelec again in Anaheim. Pav has gone 1-1-0 with a 2.51 GAA and .934 SV% vs. the Ducks this season.

Ondrej Pavelec
Miller will start in goal for the Blues.

Miller gave up four goals on 27 shots in a loss to the Stars on Saturday. Miller finished out March with the Blues at 9-3-1 with a 2.18 GAA and .912 SV%. They have just eight games remaining as they gear up for a Stanley Cup run as they push for the number-1 seed in the West. He will face a Flyers team who are 6-2-1 in their last nine.

Ryan Miller
Quick starts for the Kings.

Quick stopped 24 of 26 shots in a win over the Jets on Saturday. He has won five in a row while holding the opposition to nine goals (1.80 G/G). He makes for a great start tonight vs. the Wild. Quick has gone 1-0-1 with a 1.38 GAA and .935 SV% vs. Minny this season.

Jonathan Quick
Ramo back in goal for the Flames on Tuesday.

Ramo gave up five goals on 36 shots in a 6-3 loss to the Senators on Sunday. Ramo has won three of five starts with a 2.57 GAA and .924 SV% since returning from an MCL injury. The Flames are playing at a higher level than they have all season and a lot of it has to do with their goaltender. He will look to play spoiler tonight and hand the Maple Leafs their ninth straight loss.

Karri Ramo
Horton (lower-body) will not play on Tuesday.

There is no word when Horton suffered the injury, but it will keep him out of Tuesday's game vs. the Avalanche. Horton has just four goals with 13 assists (17 points) in 34 games this season. Horton has not scored a goal in each of the last 24 games.

Nathan Horton
Schneider will starts for the Devils on Tuesday.

Schneider stopped all 13 shots that he faced after replacing Martin Brodeur last night, however, Brodeur was still rewarded with the W. The Devils sit just three points out of the final Wild Card spot in the East, and Schneider will look to leave a tough March behind him as he starts April off with a great matchup vs. the Sabres.

Cory Schneider
Duchene (knee) will miss "roughly" four weeks.

Duchene was injured in a collision with his linemate Jamie McGinn on Saturday. This is a tough break for the Avalanche who lose their leading scorer just two weeks before the end of the regular season. Four weeks will have him returning around April 21, which will see him likely miss the majority, if not all of the first-round.

Matt Duchene
Brodeur will start for the Devils.

Brodeur gave up two goals on 27 shots in a shootout loss to the Coyotes last Thursday. He has lost four straight started while giving up 10 goals on 116 shots (.914 SV%). You can't pin these losses on Marty, the Devils have been shutout in two of the four and have only totalled four goals. Brodeur enters play tonight with a 8-7-4 record, 2,34 GAA and .907 SV% at Prudential Center this season.
