Grabner, 27, was limited to 34 games last season due to a multitude of injuries including sports hernia surgery. In the 34 games he played in, the speedy winger tallied eight goals and five assists (13 points). He had a career-high 34 goals in 2010-11, but since then he has scored just 56 goals in four seasons. This trade helps his fantasy value because he moves from a team with an ultra crowded top-six to a team who is very thin at forward.

Crouse, 18, was selected 11th overall in this summer’s draft. The 6-foot-4, 215 lbs. winger tallied 29 goals and 22 assists (51 points) in 56 games with the Kingston Frontenacs (OHL) last season. Crouse has some competition to make the squad, but his size could prove to be a key factor in the Panthers decision. After the nine-game tryout, the Panthers will decide what is best for his future.

Hamilton, 23, had one goal in 17 games with the Avalanche last season. He was the 129th overall pick in 2010 and spent the first two and a half years of his career with the San Jose Sharks. Hamilton was acquired from San Jose last March for Karl Stollery.

Huberdeau was an unrestricted free agent, but is now signed through the 2016-17 season. Huberdeau is coming off of a season in which he tallied 15 goals and 39 assists (54 points) in 79 games. He should lead the Panthers in points again in 2015-16.

Kane is facing rape allegations and the case is expected to go to a grand jury. Attending training camp is good news for Kane and his potential fantasy owners, but there is still uncertainty surrounding him until the case is closed.

Meszaros, 29, had 14 points (7G / 7A) in 60 games with the Sabres last season. The former first-round pick has totalled 238 points (63G / 175A) in 645 games in his career with the Senators, Lightning, Flyers, Bruins and Sabres.

Gustavsson was limited to just seven games last year because of a shoulder injury and concussion concerns. The emergence of Petr Mrazek ended his days with the Red Wings, but he finds himself in Boston where he will try to land a job as Tuukka Rask’s backup. He will compete with Malcolm Subban and Jeremy Smith for that spot.

Visnovsky, 39, has missed more games than he has played over the last two seasons. Overall he has totalled eight goals and 23 assists (31 points) in 77 games. Visnovsky will have to beat out David Rundblad or Trevor van Riemsdyk for a spot in the Blackhawks’ opening night lineup.

Vasilevskiy underwent vascular surgery to remove a blood clot near his collarbone on September 3rd, but returned to the ice this afternoon. Vasilevskiy is expected to miss 2-3 months from the date of his surgery, which would put him on target to return in early-November at the earliest. Ray Emery was brought in on a professional tryout to potentially serve as Ben Bishop’s backup while Vasilevskiy is on the shelf.

Gomez had 34 points (7G / 27A) in 58 games with the Devils last season. Gomez was signed after it was announced that Patrik Berglund would miss four months after undergoing shoulder surgery.

Hejda, 37, had one goal and 12 assists (13 points) in 81 games with the Avalanche last season. He has averaged three goals and 14 assists (17 points) per 82 games throughout his NHL career—so he is not a fantasy relevant blueliner even if he signs with the defending Stanley Cup Champions.

Paille has spent the last five and a half seasons in Boston, but will look to make the Blackhawks roster in training camp. He is not an offensive threat, registering just 172 points (85G / 87A) in 570 career games.

With Andrei Vasilevskiy going down for 2-3 months because of a blood clot, the Lightning have brought Emery in to potentially back Ben Bishop up until Vasilevskiy is ready to return. If Emery isn’t signed to the team, look for Kristers Gudlevskis to become the backup.

Boyes has a career high of 72 points (2008-09) but has averaged 18 goals and 26 assists (44 points) per 82 games in the last three seasons. The Maple Leafs are thin upfront, so they have brought in a number of veteran forwards to compete for a roster spot.
