Schneider likely to be in goal for the Devils.

Schneider stopped 22 of 24 shots on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough as the Devils were downed 3-0 by the Blues. Schneider's lack of goal support comes as no surprise, he has had minimal help all season. It looks like he will take on a Stars team who have won three of their last four and are tied for eighth in NHL scoring (2.85 G/PG).

Cory Schneider
Capitals head coach Adam Oates said the tentative plan is for Michal Neuvirth to start in Detroit Friday.

Neuvirth stopped 28 of 30 shots in a loss to the Devils last Friday. Neuvirth is 3-5-1 with a 2.79 GAA and .915 SV% heading into Friday's contest. Depending on what happens in tonight's game, there is a chance that Braden Holtby could start both games of the back-to-back, but for now the plan is for Neuvirth to go.

Michal Neuvirth
Ward (lower-body) will go to Charlotte and make some starts on a conditioning stint.

Ward has been out for a month and participated in his first full practice this morning. As he progresses his way back, the Hurricanes are expected to send him to Charlotte to make a few starts before returning to the NHL.

Cam Ward
Bishop gets the nod for the Lightning.

Bishop yielded three goals on 26 shots as he was out-duelled by Jonathan Bernier in Tuesday's 3-2 loss. It snapped a three game winning-streak and was the fourth time in his last five start that he has allowed at least three goals. Tonight he will face his former team in Ottawa, he is 2-0-0 with 1.92 GAA and .943 SV% against the Senators this season.

Ben Bishop
Clemmensen gets the call for the Panthers.

Clemmensen stopped 35 of 36 shots in a 5-1 win over the Penguins in his last start on January 20. He will give Tim Thomas a break tonight in Toronto. He has already defeated the Leafs once this season, stopping 28 of 29 shots in a 3-1 win in December.

Scott Clemmensen
Budaj gets the start for the Canadiens.

Budaj allowed one goal on eight shots in a relief effort of Carey Price on Saturday. It will be his first start since January 8, a night he allowed three goals on 27 shots in a loss to the Flyers. He has been a solid spot-start option this season, but with the Habs in Boston, you should look elsewhere tonight.

Peter Budaj
Clemmensen was the first goalie off of the ice for the Panthers.

Holtby will be between the pipes for Washington.

Holtby gave up four goals on 27 shots in a 5-4 OT win over the Sabres on Tuesday. He has won two in a row while posting a 1.99 GAA and .917 SV%. He will make a third consecutive start tonight in Columbus. Holtby is 2-0-0 with a 2.26 GAA and .931 SV% in two starts plus a relief appearance.

Braden Holtby
Zetterberg (back) skated at Red Wings practice this morning.

Zetterberg skated this morning and centred the first line with Gustav Nyquist and Justin Abdelkader. He has missed the last two games but his presence at practice suggests that he could be available for Friday's game vs. the Capitals. Monitor his status during Friday's game-day skate.

Henrik Zetterberg
Lehtonen was the first goalie off of the ice at Stars morning skate; expected to start.

Lehtonen gave up four goals on 21 shots in a 4-3 loss to the Avalanche on Monday. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak, but that won't deter the Stars from turning to him tonight vs. the Devils. Lehtonen stop 33 of 34 shots in a 1-0 loss the first time he faced New Jersey.

Kari Lehtonen
First signs of morning skate for Habs indicates that Peter Budaj will start tonight against Boston.

Budaj allowed one goal on eight shots in a relief effort of Carey Price on Saturday. It would be his first start since January 8, a night he allowed three goals on 27 shots in a loss to the Flyers. He has been a solid spot-start option this season, but with the Habs in Boston, you should look elsewhere tonight.

Peter Budaj
Rask gets the start for the Bruins.

Rask gave up two goals on 30 shots in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Panthers. The win was his 24th of the season (5th in the NHL) to go along with a 2.07 GAA (7th), .930 SV% (4th) and five shutouts (1st). He will make his second start against the Habs this season, he stopped 25 of 27 shots in a 2-1 defeat in early December.

Tuukka Rask
Ward (lower-body) is on the ice for the Hurricanes practice.

This is the first time that Ward has joined the Hurricanes for a full practice since getting injured. He has missed one month with a lower-body injury and will likely be out until after the Olympic break.

Cam Ward
Bernier is not on the ice for the Maple Leafs optional skate; expected to start tonight.

Bernier stopped 40 of 42 shots in a 3-2 win over the Lightning on Tuesday. Bernier made a number of great saves to preserve his 18th victory of the season. Tonight he is expected to face the Panthers for the first time this season. He comes into play tonight 6-4-1 with a 3.08 GAA and .915 SV% in 10 January starts.
