Mason gets his 39th start of the season.

Mason gave up four goals on 19 shots before being yanked in Saturday's 6-1 debacle vs. the Bruins. It was the third time that Mason has been pulled in 2014. He sits 3-4-1 with an ugly 3.60 GAA and .877 SV% in the New Year, but catches a break with his matchup tonight. He will face the Red Wings for the second time this season and for the second time they will be without Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg.

Steve Mason
McElhinney gets the start in the second game of back-to-back.

McElhinney stopped 10 of 11 shots after replacing Sergei Bobrovsky on Saturday. In his last start he allowed three goals on 31 shots in a win over the Jets (Jan. 11). Tonight he will start against a Senators team who have dropped four of their last five.

Curtis McElhinney
RInaldo (ankle) has shed his non-contact jersey, but doesn't appear to be in tonight's lineup.

Rinaldo has missed the last 10 games with a high-ankle sprain, but is really close to returning. Getting rid of the non-contact jersey suggests that he could play tonight, but there is no real need for him to be in the lineup against the Red Wings.

Zac Rinaldo
Bernier starts for the Leafs.

Bernier stopped 12 of 13 shots after taking over for James Reimer in Saturday's 5-4 OT loss to the Jets. The Maple Leafs goaltending has allowed 12 goals in their last two games heading into tonight's contest vs. the visiting Lightning. Bernier is 11-7-1 with a 2.79 GAA and .917 SV% at home this season.

Jonathan Bernier
The Capitals have recalled Ryan Stoa from Hershey (AHL).

Stoa has nine goals and 15 assists (24 points) in 36 games for Hershey this season. He has not played in the NHL since the 2010-11 season with Colorado, he had four points (2G / 2A) in 25 games that year. With Brooks Laich taking a maintenance day on Monday, Stoa is likely insurance in case Laich is unavailable tonight.

Sabres head coach Ted Nolan said Enroth will most likely start against Washington tonight.

Enroth gave up four goals on 32 shots in a 5-3 loss to the Hurricanes on Thursday. With Ryan Miller starting last night, it looks like the Sabres will turn to Enroth tonight. He is 1-10-4 with a 2.67 GAA and .910 SV% this season. He faces a Capitals team who finally found some offence in their last contest (5-0 win @ MTL).

Jhonas Enroth
Kuemper gets the call for the Wild.

Kuemper allowed three goals on 32 shots in a 3-2 OT loss to the Sharks on Saturday. Tonight he will make his eighth consecutive start and and ninth in the last 11 games. In his previous eight starts since being recalled, Kuemper is 5-2-1 with a 1.83 GAA and .941 SV%. He draws the tough assignment of trying to beat the Ducks in Anaheim tonight.

Darcy Kuemper
Quick leads the Kings onto the ice for warmups; he starts.

Quick allowed two goals on 20 shots in a 3-0 loss at Dodgers Stadium on Saturday. He has lost four games in a row despite only allowing nine goals (2.25 G/PG). It does not get any easier for Quick tonight, he will face the 34-12-6 San Jose Sharks on the road.

Jonathan Quick
Lehtonen leads the Stars onto the ice for warmups; he starts.

Lehtonen stopped all 24 shots that he faced in a 3-0 win over the Penguins on Saturday. It was a huge win over a great team. Lehtonen will need to be at his best once again with the Avalanche in town tonight. Lehtonen is 0-1-1 with 4.38 GAA and .883 SV% in two prior starts against Colorado.

Kari Lehtonen
Johnson leads the Bruins onto the ice for warmups.

Johnson allowed two goals on 23 shots in a win over the Kings last Monday. He has won each of his last two starts while posting a 2.00 GAA and .930 SV%. With him getting the nod tonight, that leaves Tuukka Rask to take on Tim Thomas and the Panthers tomorrow. He has a subpar matchup against an Isles team with a strong O.

Chad Johnson
Couture is "close" after undergoing surgery on his hand in early January.

“He was shooting the puck very well. Better than he has been over the last week," said Sharks head coach Todd McLellan. "That just shows progress. His legs and lungs have been maintained very well. I think when he finally gets the go-ahead to really get involved the conditioning will come quick. The timing will take a couple games, but is he on pace to play before the Olympic break? I sure hope so, but I can’t answer that definitively.” Couture will miss his 10th straight game tonight.

Logan Couture
Datsyuk (lower-body) will not travel to Philadelphia.

Datsyuk hasn't played since January 1 because of a lower-body injury. He had been skating, then took a few days off, then began practicing again. He's considered close, but that's been his status for several days now.

Pavel Datsyuk
Expect Matt Greene, who returned to practice last week, to return to the lineup for tonight’s game in San Jose

Greene hasn’t played since leaving the Kings’ 1-0 win over Vancouver on January 13 during the second period. Darryl Sutter said on January 21 that the injury was a concussion. Greene, who will likely see time with multiple defensive partners, indicated that he expects to start alongside Willie Mitchell.

Matt Greene
Martinez is out tonight, not on road-trip with the Kings because of a hyperextended elbow.

With Martinez out that opens the door for Matt Greene get back into the Kings lineup. Greene has missed the last six games with an injury. It is a short two-game road-trip that wraps up tomorrow, expect Martinez to miss at least these two games.

Alec Martinez
Thomas is expected to get the start vs. his former team on Tuesday.

Thomas gave up four goals on 30 shots as the Panthers overcame a two-goal deficit in the third period to beat the Red Wings 5-4 in a shootout last night. On Tuesday it looks like he will make his return to Boston for the first time since leaving. He allowed three goals in a lost to the Bruins in October.

Schroeder is back with the Canucks after a conditioning stint with Utica and will play tonight vs. Edmonton.

Schroeder recorded one assist in two games with Utica this weekend. With the Canucks really thin up the middle right now, Schroeder could slot in on the top-6 tonight.

Jordan Schroeder
Luongo gets the starts vs. the Oilers.

Luongo gave up four goals on 33 shots in a 5-4 overtime win against the Coyotes last night. It was his worst out since returning to the crease, but the Canucks were able to provide him with enough goal support. He should make for a good start tonight with Edmonton coming to Rogers Arena.

Roberto Luongo
Miller vs. the Penguins.

Miller stopped 36 of 38 shots in a 5-2 win over the Blue Jackets on Saturday. The win snapped a three-game losing streak and was his 13th of the season. Trade talks involving Miller seem to be ramping-up, but for now he is still a Buffalo Sabre, who take on the Penguins tonight. It is an ugly matchup for Miller, look elsewhere tonight.

Ryan Miller
