Rask and Quick lead the teams to the ice in LA

Quick only allowed one goal on 17 shots in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Wild on Tuesday. Quick was not busy, but Darcy Kuemper was excellent at the other end of the ice. Quick has stopped 43 of 45 shots (.956 SV%) since retiring from his groin injury. Tonight he would face the Bruins at home, he is 8-3-1 with a 2.14 GAA and .907 SV% at the Staples Center this season.

Jonathan Quick
Tuukka Rask the starting goalie tonight, as he leads the Bruins out for warmups in LA

Rask gave up five goals on 20 shots in a loss to the Ducks on Tuesday and has struggled recently, but I would be surprised if the Bruins turned to Chad Johnson vs. a tough opponent like Los Angeles.

Tuukka Rask
Khudobin leads the Hurricanes onto the ice for warmups; he starts.

Khudobin stopped 31 of 32 shots in a 2-1 win over the Predators on Sunday. He was scheduled to start on Tuesday but the game was postponed, so it would be no surprise to see him go tonight. He has won all three starts with a 1.99 GAA and .947 SV% since returning from an ankle injury on January 2. He appears to have the keys to the 'Canes crease and is a good waiver wire addition for teams in need of goaltending.

Anton Khudobin
Lehtonen leads the Stars onto the ice for warmups; he starts.

Lehtonen allowed seven goals on 43 shots in a 7-3 loss to the Islanders on Tuesday. The Stars goaltending has been suspect recently, they have given up 18 goals in the last three games. He has a solid matchup tonight vs. the Devils and their 26th ranked offence.

Kari Lehtonen
Antti Niemi will start again in goal for the Sharks, facing Jimmy Howard.

Niemi gave up three goals on 28 shots in his third loss in his last four starts on Tuesday vs. Nashville. Tonight, he will take on the Red Wings for the second time this season, in the first meeting he stopped all 24 shots that he faced in a 1-0 shootout win.

Antti Niemi
Datsyuk (groin) who is ruled out for tonight's game is still participating in the game-day skate.

Datsyuk is skating as an extra this morning, but it is an encouraging sign that he is skating. The Red Wings are in Los Angeles on Saturday, Datsyuk is questionable for that contest.

Pavel Datsyuk
Defenseman Wade Redden has announced his retirement after 14 NHL seasons.

Redden was picked 2nd overall pick in 1995 by the New York Islanders. He never suited up for the Isles and started his NHL career with the Senators where he played 11 seasons (1996-08). After Ottawa he played for the Rangers, Blues and Bruins. He played a total of 1023 games, recording 109 goals and 348 assists (457 points). He was a two-time All-star and represented Canada at the 2006 Winter Olympics.

Coach Quenneville says they're going to try Kruger at second line center more; he will start there on Saturday.

Kruger has played on the second line sparingly this season and saw some time there last year. He has 18 points (4G / 14A) in 46 games. He receives a boost in fantasy value while he is skating with Patrick Kane and Kris Versteeg. He makes for an interesting choice in one-day fantasy leagues.

Marcus Kruger
The Devils have reassigned Adam Larsson to Albany (AHL).

Larsson has been out since November 23 with a lower-body injury, so this assignment is likely for conditioning purposes and he should be recalled after a couple of games in Albany. Larsson has three points (1G / 2A) and a minus-4 rating in 20 games with the Devils.

Adam Larsson
Comeau had to be helped off of the ice at the Blue Jackets' morning skate with an apparent leg injury.

Blue Jackets' head coach Todd Richards did not no the nature or severity of Comeau's injury after practice. The injury occurred when he missed check and went hard into boards. He had been pencilled into tonight's lineup, but it appears that he will not play now.
