Fleury leads the Penguins onto the ice for warmups; he starts.

Despite allowing five goals on 34 shots, Fleury came away victorious against the Jets on Saturday. Fleury continues to pace the NHL with 24 wins in 36 appearances. He will face the Canucks for the second time this season. In the first meeting he allowed three goals on 39 shots in a 4-3 shootout win.

Niemi leads the Sharks onto the ice for warmups; he starts.

Niemi was yanked after allowing three goals on 14 shots in a loss to the Avalanche on Saturday. He was given Sunday night off and there was rumblings that he wouldn't start tonight, but he gets the nod. The first time he faced the Predators he allowed three goals on 23 shots in a 3-2 loss.

Antti Niemi
Anderson starts on Wednesday.

Anderson allowed three goals on 29 shots in a OT win over the Habs on Saturday. Anderson has won five straight starts and has 14 wins on the season. During his five-game winning streak he has posted a 1.99 GAA and .937 SV%. He has a tough matchup vs. the Avalanche on Wednesday.

Craig Anderson
Berra starts for the Flames.

Berra allowed three goals on 20 shots in a loss to the Flyers last Tuesday. He was given the next two games off, but will be back in net tonight vs. the Coyotes. He enters play tonight with a 3-4-0 record, 3.16 GAA and .909 SV% on the road.

Reto Berra
Nabokov (lower-body) will be out at least one week and will be re-evaluated.

Nabokov was injured in Monday's win over the Stars. This is the second time this season that Nabby has been sidelined with a lower-body injury. Like the first time around, Kevin Poulin will take the reigns as the Islanders starter for the time-being.

Evgeni Nabokov
Poulin will be in goal for the Islanders.

Poulin allowed two goals on 13 shots in a winning relief effort of an injured Evgeni Nabokov on Monday. He has struggled to put together wins this season, but this is back-to-back W's for Poulin. He will be in tough vs. an angry Maple Leafs team looking to avenge a 7-1 blowout in their last game.

Kevin Poulin
Allen (foot) will not play Tuesday vs. Boston.

Allen has been playing with a foot injury that will now keep him out of the lineup and likely put him on injured reserve. Allen has seven assists and a plus-13 rating in 40 games this season. Mark Fistric will enter the lineup in Allen's place.

Bryan Allen
Kuemper will start in goal for the Wild.

Kuemper has started one game and has one relief effort this season, in those two games he is 0-1-0 with a 6.13 GAA and .625 SV%… Yep. In the AHL he is 7-10-0 with a 2.47 GAA and .929 SV%. Obviously it is a small sample size for his NHL performances this season, but the matchup with the Kings is an ugly one.

Darcy Kuemper
The Wild have loaned Mathew Dumba back to Portland (WHL) for the remainder of the season.

Dumba's demotion will allow him to develop at further at the junior level. He did not exactly dominate the World Junior Championships, so his return to the WHL is likely a good idea for the 19-year-old's development into an everyday NHL defenseman.

Matt Dumba
Tanguay (knee/hip) skated for the second consecutive day and is progressing in a positive direction.

Tanguay wants to push things even harder now, to hopefully fully recover from the hip problems that developed while rehabbing an earlier knee injury. He has been out since November 2. Obviously, feeling good after some relatively mild skating is not the same as feeling good skating in game-like conditions, but is is positive news for the Avalanche.

Alex Tanguay
The Avalanche have signed Nate Guenin to a two-year contract extension.

Guenin was a New York Rangers' 4th round pick (127th overall) in 2002. This season he has recorded four assists in 38 games with the Avs. He has a total of eight points (2G / 6A) in 70 career NHL games with the Avalanche, Ducks, Blue Jackets, Penguins and Flyers.

Nate Guenin
Edler (knee) took part in the Canucks game-day skate.

Edler has been out since December 3, but his presence at the morning skate suggests that he could return this evening. However it seems very unlikely that he will play tonight, Edler appears to be getting close to returning to the blueline. He has had a bad year posting three goals and six assists with a minus-12 rating in 27 games.

Alexander Edler
Burrows (jaw) took part in the Canucks morning skate.

Burrows has been out since December 1 with a fractured jaw. Taking part in the morning skate suggests that he could return to the lineup tonight, but that seems unlikely. However it is a great sign that Burrows is near a return. He struggled before getting injured, he has just three assists and a minus-7 rating in 17 games.

Alexandre Burrows
Khabibulin is expected to miss 4-5 months after undergoing surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder.

Khabibulin has missed nearly two months with a groin injury, but it is his shoulder that will likely cost him the remainder of the season. It was a surprise announcement; Khabibulin’s lower-body injury, which he sustained against the Nashville Predators on November 16, was known for quite some time. General manager Stan Bowman said Khabibulin was nursing this shoulder injury since then, too.

The Sharks recalled Freddie Hamilton from Worcester (AHL) on Monday.

Hamilton has been held off the scoresheet in 10 games with the Sharks this season. While with Worcester he has 18 points (11G / 7A) in 22 games. He will be in the lineup tonight vs. Nashville.

Freddie Hamilton
The Avalanche have recalled David Van Der Gulik from Lake Erie (AHL).

Van Der Gulik is a 30-year-old right-winger who has six goals in 14 games with Lake Erie. He has appeared in 46 career NHL games with the Flames and Avalanche, recording two goals and 11 assists.
