Pavelec starts for the Jets.

Pavelec allowed six goals on 30 shots in a loss to the Oilers on Monday. It was an ugly outing for Pavelec who has allowed three or more goals in five of nine starts in December. Tonight he will face the Wild for the fourth time this season. Pavelec is 0-2-1 with a 1.97 GAA and .933 SV% in the first three meetings.

Zetterberg (back) is set to return to the Red WIngs lineup on Saturday.

Zetterberg has missed the last 11 games having not played since December 1 vs. Florida. The Red Wings have really missed their captain going 3-6-2 without Zetty. He is expected to centre the second line with Daniel Alfredsson and Justin Abdelkader tomorrow.

Dupuis needs surgery on his ACL and could miss the rest of the season.

Dupuis left Monday's game in the first period and did not return. The injuries continue to mount for the Pegnuins as they lose another top-6 forward for what is an extended period of time. Dupuis is out indefinitely.

Talbot is the confirmed Rangers starter.

Talbot stopped 25 of 26 shots in a 2-1 shootout win over the Maple Leafs on Monday. He has won back-to-back starts while stopped 49 of 51 shots and appears to be getting a third consecutive start in Washington tonight. Talbot is 5-1-0 with a 1.51 GAA and .944 SV% on the road.

Talbot was the first goalie off of the ice at the Rangers morning skate, appears he will get a third consecutive start.

Talbot stopped 25 of 26 shots in a 2-1 shootout win over the Maple Leafs on Monday. He has won back-to-back starts while stopped 49 of 51 shots and appears to be getting a third consecutive start in Washington tonight. Talbot is 5-1-0 with a 1.51 GAA and .944 SV% on the road.

Raanta gets the call for the Blackhawks.

Raanta was not very busy on Monday facing only 12 shots - he stopped 10 of them in a 5-2 win over the Devils. Tonight will mark his 10th straight appearance as he continues to start in place of Corey Crawford (lower-body). Raanta is 8-1-2 with a 2.20 GAA and .916 SV% to start his NHL career.

Berra starts vs. the Oilers.

Berra stopped 32 of 34 shots in Monday's shootout win over the Blues. He has been very solid in December posting a 2-2-0 record with a 1.98 GAA and .934 SV%. He will face the Oilers for the third time this season, he is 1-1-0 with a 1.97 GAA and .926 SV% in the first two meetings.

McElhinney gets the nod for the Blue Jackets.

McElhinney was scheduled to start Monday's game, but was held out because he was dealing with a sore back prior to puck-drop. He will return to the cage six days after his last start where he gave up three goals on 36 shots in a win over the Flyers. He will face a Devils team who have won three of their last five while outscoring their opponents 17-14.

Bernier will face the Sabres tonight.

Bernier stopped 42 of 43 shots in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Rangers on Monday. Bernier has stopped 93 of the last 97 shots he faced (.959 SV%) but has no recorded a win in that span. He will take on the Sabres for the second time this season, in the first meeting he allowed two goals on 26 shots in a 3-1 loss.

Miller starts in goal for Buffalo.

Miller gave up one goal on 37 shots in an OT win over the Coyotes on Monday. Don't look now, but Miller has won three straight and four of his last five to give him nine on the season. During his three game winning streak he has posted a 1.63 GAA and .950 SV%. Miller will face a Maple Leafs team he is 2-0-0 against this season.

Lehtonen was the first goalie off at the Stars morning skate, he is expected to start.

Lehtonen stopped 30 of 32 shots in a win over the Kings on Monday. After a rough start to December, Lehtonen is 2-0-1 with a 1.62 GAA and .949 SV% in his last three starts. He will face a Nashville team who allowed three goals to in a 3-1 loss on December 12.

Lehner is the first goalie off at the Senators morning skate; he is expected to start.

Lehner allowed five goals on 33 shots in a loss to the Devils on December 18. He was the back-up for the last three games, but appears to be in-line to start in Boston tonight. Lehner has posted a 2-5-1 record with a 2.69 GAA and .928 SV% on the road.

Rask starts, Svedberg will be back-up.

Rask stopped 32 of 34 shots in a win over the Predators on Monday. It was his third consecutive win and fifth in his last six starts. Rask has been great in December posting a 5-2-0 record with a 1.80 GAA and .939 SV%. He will face the Sens for the second time, in the first he gave up four goals on 31 shots in 4-2 loss.

Clowe (concussion) will return to the Devils lineup tonight.

After signing a five-year, $24.25 millions US contract in the offseason, Clowe has only appeared in six of a possible 38 games for the Devils this season. Clowe was concussed on October 13 against the Jets, so he has missed two and a half months. In his first six games with New Jersey he has one assist and a minus-5 rating. Clowe will skate on the fourth line with Andrei Loktionov and Stephen Gionta.

Peters will start for the Hurricanes.

Peters gave up four goals on 25 shots in a loss to the Blue Jackets on Monday. Despite allowing seven goals in his last two starts, the Canes will turn to Peters against the Penguins. The first time he faced Pittsburgh he stopped 26 of 29 shots in a 3-1 loss.

Crawford (lower-body) was on the ice taking shots this morning.

Crawford has been out since December 8, but is nearing a return from what is believed to be a leg injury. Taking shots in practice this morning is a good sign that he is definitely getting close. Crawford is 17-6-3 with a 2.47 GAA and .907 SV% this season.
