Smith back in goal for Phoenix.

Smith was given Wednesday off, but will be back in goal tonight vs. Chicago. He gave up three goals on 28 shots in his third straight loss on Monday. He has a tough matchup to close out a tough month, he went 5-3-2 with a 3.08 GAA and .910 SV% in November.

Mike Smith
Defenseman Andrej Sekera was not at practice Saturday and Canes coach Kirk Muller said he is very doubtful for Sunday's game against the Vancouver Canucks.

Sekera has an undisclosed upper-body injury and did not play Friday in the Canes' 5-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils. Sekera was missed, both defensively and on the power play. He also has been productive offensively, with three goals and two assists in his last five games before Friday.

Andrej Sekera
Ramo was struck by a puck in practice but he is fine and will start as expected.

Ramo stopped all four shots he faced in a relief effort last night. Tonight will be his first start since November 14 when he was pulled after allowing three goals on 15 shots. He has struggled to a 3.52 GAA and .884 SV% in nine appearances, look elsewhere tonight.

Karri Ramo
Gustavsson starts Sunday vs. Ottawa.

Gustavsson will get his third start in the last four games. Even though Jimmy Howard recorded a shutout vs. the Islanders on Friday, 'The Monster' will go tomorrow. Howard has struggled vs. the Senators so it makes sense that Mike Babcock would go to Gustavsson who is 6-0-1 with a 2.17 GAA and .927 SV%.

Jonas Gustavsson
Paul Byron makes season debut tonight.

There is no word on who will come out for the Flames but Byron is in. Byron has five goals and 13 assists in 23 games with Abbotsford (AHL) this season. Byron is a 24-year-old centre who was drafted 178th overall in 2007 and has spent the three seasons in the Flames system.

Paul Byron
Good news for the Flames with captain Mark Giordano skating with the main group in Los Angeles today.

Giordano continues to work his way back from a broken ankle that he suffered on October 21. He was given a six-to-eight week timetable and it has been five weeks since he broke the ankle. He is definitely nearing a return and could be back in the lineup next week, which would be a huge boost for the Flames.

Mark Giordano
Jonas Hiller in goal for the Ducks.

Hiller gave up five goals on 32 shots in 6-3 loss to the Stars on Tuesday. It was the third time in the last five starts that Hiller has given up at least four goals. He draws a very difficult matchup vs. the Sharks who are winners of four straight and seven in the last eight.

Jonas Hiller
Niemi starts vs. Anaheim.

Niemi allowed three goals on 24 shots in a win over the Blues last night. He will go again as he searches for his fifth consecutive win. After a rough stretch to begin November, Niemi has looked great as of late, moving himself back into the elite conversation. He has a tough matchup vs. the Ducks tonight, but he should still be a solid goalie-2 tonight.

Antti Niemi
Luongo vs. Talbot.

Luongo stopped 37 of 39 shots in a 5-2 win over the Senators on Thursday. It was a great outing for Lu who was 1-3-3 in his previous seven starts. He will take on the Rangers this afternoon, who are coming off of a sluggish performance against the Bruins on Friday. New York has been extremely inconsistent this season, so Luongo should make for a good start as he tries to earn coach John Tortorella a win vs. his former team.

Roberto Luongo
Selanne (rest) did not make the trip to San Jose and won't play tonight.

As expected Selanne will sit and rest with the Ducks in the second game of a back-to-back. The veteran has struggled this season, he has not recorded a point since October 27 - a span of 12 games. It has been 15 games since he has scored his last goal.

Teemu Selanne
Mazanec starts for the Predators.

Mazanec followed his second shutout by allowing two goals on 27 shots in a 3-0 loss to the Oilers on Thursday. Despite the loss it was still a strong outing for the rookie netminder, who's number sit at 2.02 GAA and .934 SV% through 10 appearances. He will be in tough tonight with an inexperience defensive corp in front of him.

Marek Mazanec
