Mason starts vs. Nashville.

Mason stopped 25 of 26 shots in a win over the Jets yesterday. Mason gets the call again tonight to take on the Predators. During his time with the Blue Jackets, Mason saw a lot of the Predators. Tonight will mark his 17th career starts against Nashville, he is 5-7-4 with a a 2.40 GAA and .913 SV% in the 16 previous.

Steve Mason
Dallas Stars' defenseman Stephane Robidas will be out 4-6 months with leg fracture.

Robidas was injured on Friday after crashing legs first into the boards. He had surgery early Saturday morning and will be out until April at the earliest. This is a tough break for Robidas who is set to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason. Jamie Oleksiak has been recalled from Texas (AHL).

Stephane Robidas
Curtis McElhinney will start tonight, coach Todd Richards said.

McElhinney allowed three goals on 14 shots in a relief appearance on November 19. He is 1-2-1 with a 2.32 GAA and .923 SV% in six appearances this season. As solid as he has been, he is not a legitimate spot-start option against the Bruins tonight.

Curtis McElhinney
Talbot starts for New York.

Talbot will make his first start at Madison Square Garden this season. Talbot has been excellent this season allowing the Rangers to give Henrik Lundqvist a number of nights off. He is 5-1-0 with a 1.41 GAA and .944 SV% but has a tough matchup with with for Rangers' coach John Tortorella and his Canucks in town.

Cam Talbot
The Coyotes have signed forward Gilbert Brule to a one-year, two-way contract.

Brule is a former first round pick (6th overall in 2005) who never materialized in the NHL. He was with the Coyotes in 2011-12 where he had five goals and 14 points in 33 games. He has appeared in eight games with the Coyotes AHL affiliate the Portland Pirates this season, where he has six goals and two assists.

The Predators have recalled Joe Piskula from Milwaukee (AHL).

Piskula, 29, has just 10 games of NHL experience with the Flames and Kings. He has skated in 18 games with Milwaukee this season recording five assists. He will make his Predators debut tonight with Kevin Klein and Shea Weber sidelined.

Joe Piskula
Klein (undisclosed) will not be in the lineup tonight vs. Nashville.

There is no word what is ailing Klein, but he is out tonight along with Shea Weber. This is a huge hit to the Predators blueline, who lose 26-plus and 20-plus minute eaters on the back-end. Joe Piskula has been recalled and will play.

Kevin Klein
Erat will be in the Capitals lineup tonight.

This will be the first time that Erat has dressed since demanding a trade earlier in the week. It has been a tough season for the 32-year-old who has tallied just six assists in 23 games. He is expected to dress on the fourth line with Michael Latta being sent down this morning.

Martin Erat
Holtby starts for the second night in a row.

Holtby allowed two goals on 37 shots in a 3-2 shootout win over the Canadiens last night. It was a strong performance for Holtby who had allowed 10 goals in his previous three starts. He will take on the Islanders for the second time this season, he stopped 34 of 36 in a 6-2 win the first time around.

Braden Holtby
No sign of Shea Weber (face) at the Predators morning skate, which means no Weber vs. the Flyers.

Weber took a puck in the face on Thursday and did not return to the game. The injury was near his eye which is always a scary scene, especially when it is your team's best player. He has been listed as day-to-day by the Predators so he is not expected to be out long-term at this point. Seth Jones will likely slide onto the top-pair with Roman Josi while Weber is sidelined.

Shea Weber
Johnson was the first off at an optional skate, read into that what you will.

With Tuukka Rask taking on the Rangers on Friday, Johnson should get the start tonight and being first off would suggest that he will, but nothing is confirmed. He surrendered two goals on 24 shots in a win over the Hurricanes last Saturday. The W moved him to 3-1-0 with a 2.21 GAA and .917 SV%. He has already beat Columbus this season, so if he starts, he is worth spot-start consideration.

Chad Johnson
Luongo is the Canucks likely starter.

Luongo stopped 37 of 39 shots in a 5-2 win over the Senators on Thursday. It was a great outing for Lu who was 1-3-3 in his previous seven starts. He is expected to take on the Rangers this afternoon, who are coming off of a sluggish performance against the Bruins on Friday. New York has been extremely inconsistent this season, so Luongo should make for a good start as he tries to earn coach John Tortorella a win vs. his former team.

Roberto Luongo
de Haan will make his season debut tonight against Washington.

de Haan was recalled on Thursday, but was a healthy scratch on Friday. He will be inserted into the lineup tonight with Radek Martinek coming out. The 2009 12th overall pick has just one game of NHL experience (2011-12). In 17 games with Bridgeport (AHL) this season he had one goal and two assists. He was a good offensive defenseman in the OHL, but has yet to excel offensively in the AHL to this point (2G / 18A in 76 games).
