
After Tim Thomas left yesterday's contest with a groin injury, Markstrom came in and was excellent in relief. He turned aside all 25 shots he faced, but the Panthers could only get one passed Steve Mason. He will be the starter as long as Thomas is out, but the injury is not expected to be long term.
As reported yesterday, Paul McLean wants Spezza's groin to heal so it is not a lingering issue all season. Stephane Da Costa will centre Milan Michalek and Bobby Ryan.
Thomas says groin is responding well to treatment, and does not think he will be out long. There were reports that he could potentially land on IR, but we will have to see where this goes. For now consider him day-to-day until reported otherwise. Jacob Markstrom will take over between the pipes.
Etem will make his season debut tomorrow vs. New York. He was injured back on September 22nd and has not played since. The California native had three goals and seven assists (10 points) in 38 games last season.
Palmieri was injured on Sunday and will be replaced by Emerson Etem tomorrow. The Ducks next contest is not until Sunday, so consider him questionable for the matchup with the Senators.
Dubnyk will look to turn things are tomorrow against the Candiens. His first two starts have been tough for his fantasy owners (6.53 GAA / .831 SV%) and things will not get any easier with the Habs in town.
