Dustin Brown skated on his own after practice for the first time since injuring his hamstring at the start of camp.

"He skated one day since the start of camp, and he’s not a guy that can just jump into a game," said Kings head coach Darryl Sutter "So if he doesn’t get any exhibition games, I’d say it’s highly unlikely that you’ve got a player that’s ready for the season." You do not like to hear this from coach Sutter, however Brown is not expected to miss an extensive period of time so his draft day value should remain the same.

Sharks forward Raffi Torres will likely miss a minimum of six weeks, and possibly much longer, after suffering an ACL injury in his right knee on Friday. According to general manager Doug Wilson, the Sharks have not made any final determination as to whether Torres will have surgery. That decision will be made at some point this week, depending on the damage. If he does have surgery, he would miss three-to-four months.

The vacancy in the lineup left by Torres is a significant one, as the six-foot, 215-pound wing appeared set to play on Logan Couture’s line with Patrick Marleau, or Joe Pavelski’s line with Tommy Wingels. His injury makes it all the more likely rookie Tomas Hertl will start the season on the NHL roster, and could open the door for the club to sign Anthony Stewart, who is in camp on a tryout.

Ducks defenseman Francois Beauchemin played his first game since undergoing reconstructive surgery on his ACL last May and logged a shade over 20 minutes.

Beauchemin had one of the best years of his career in 2013. He scored six goals and added 18 assists (led all Ducks defensemen) in 48 games. At 33-years-old it might be hard for him to bounce back after ACL surgery, but playing over 20 minutes in his first preseason game is a good sign.

Brandon Pirri is listed in the early lineup for the Blackhawks tonight.

Pirri led the Blackhawks AHL affiliate in assists (53) and points (75) in 76 games last year. The Hawks are looking for someone to center Marian Hossa and Patrick Sharp on their second line. Pirri was a candidate heading into camp but he has been dealing with an undisclosed injury all camp. He will be on the second line tonight and if he plays well, he just might be penciled into that spot come October.

Bolland still has not made his Maple Leafs debut as he has been sitting out of all preseason games because of a sore groin.

Bolland is a rock-solid third line center in Toronto. He won't put up an overwhelming amount of points, but could be useable in deep leagues. A 20 goals and 20 assists is probably where you will find Bolland at year's end.

Cammalleri is dealing with a significant injury to his hand. Has missed games and much of pre season. He is skating but is having a lot of difficulty holding the stick.

Cammalleri is in danger of missing significant time. On a rebuilding Flames team, he is one of very few viable fantasy options on this team. He should be bumped down a few spots in rankings. The 31-year-old could be valuable as a late pick if you are able to stash him until he is healthy.

Gustavsson suffered a pulled groin during Saturday's 2-0 preseason loss to the Boston Bruins at Joe Louis Arena and could miss the start of the season.

“A minimal of two weeks and then what do we say, day-to-day and then seven-to-10 days before you start talking about playing him,'' coach Mike Babcock said.

The Chicago Blackhawks have been experimenting with Brandon Saad at center but the experiment is over, for now.

“I’m a born winger,” Saad said. He struggled in the faceoff circle going 9 for 38 in his two games at center, so he was back on the wing on Sunday. Saad likely will play on the third line, where he spent most of the playoffs. “He’s playing on your top two [lines], then all of a sudden if he plays on your third line, that line is a very dangerous line offensively,” Quenneville said.

The San Jose Sharks signed defenseman Mirco Mueller to a three-year, entry-level contract on Sunday.

Mueller, 18, was taken with the 18th overall selection in June's draft. The native of Switzerland was named his club's rookie of the year after totaling six goals and 31 points in 63 games with the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League last season.

Left wing Jason Zucker, looking to win the second-line left wing spot or third-line right wing spot in training camp, returned to practice this morning after missing the past four days with a groin injury.

Zucker said it felt "absolutely perfect" in today's practice and coach Mike Yeo said there's a very good chance he plays Monday's preseason game in Columbus. He had 50 points in 55 games in the AHL last season and four goals in 20 games with the Wild.

Jagr lasted only 10 minutes in his first training camp practice before leaving the ice with what the team has called a lower-body injury. He has yet to return to practice.

The Devils are saying the injury is not serious and Jagr should be ready for the season opener. “I believe he’ll be ready. That’s just my opinion,” DeBoer said. “I’d like to see him in an exhibition game or two in a perfect world, but I think he’ll be ready.”
