Holloway was struck in the neck by a shot in the first period of Tuesday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. He was able to finish his shift but was attended to on the Blues' bench and eventually stretchered to the locker room. Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli reported Holloway was then taken to the hospital for a precautionary scan.

With Connor McDavid set to make his return from a lower-body injury, Philp with take the sidelines as a healthy scratch. Philp made his NHL debut this season and played three games with McDavid was out of the lineup, averaging 10:13 time-on-ice and recording his first career point (0G / 1A).

The Oilers have been very liberal with their goalie rotation lately, splitting starts over the past two weeks, and will likely turn to Skinner between the pipes on Wednesday for his third start in the past six games. The 26-year-old Skinner has been highly inconsistent this season, represented by an unappealing 3.31 GAA and .811 SV%. That said, Skinner was excellent in his last outing, saving 29 of 31 shots (.935 SV%) in a 4-2 win over the Calgary Flames.
