NHL Hockey Player News

Schneider is the likely starter vs. the Sharks.

With Roberto Luongo getting the loss on Sunday in Calgary, Cory Schneider will likely get back between the pipes for the Canucks. Schneider was on record for the loss in San Jose back on January 27 allowing four goals on 27 shots although he was probably one of Vancouver's better performers that night.

Cory Schneider
Niemi is the likely starter for the Sharks tonight.

NIemi stopped 18 of 19 shots that he faced in a 2-1 win over Nashville on Saturday. He will likely be back between the pipes tonight when San Jose faces Vancouver. It is a tough matchup on paper for Niemi but the Canucks have lost three of their last four games. Niemi still has outstanding numbers (1.83 GAA and .934 SV%) so he remains a great fantasy option.

Antti Niemi
Markstrom will start tonight vs. the Jets.

Markstrom will get the nod tonight for the Panthers and if he plays well will likely become the Panthers #1 with Jose Theodore out. He has a good chance to play well because the Jets aren't a great team but that being said, they have played well as of late. If Markstrom is available in your league he could make for a good start and could be worth keeping on your roster.

Jacob Markstrom
Bolland will play tonight

Bolland returns to the lineups tonight against the Wild. Previous to his upper body injury he was centering Sharp and Kane, making him a decent option for the remainder of the season in deeper fantasy leagues.

Dave Bolland
Pavelec will be in net for the Jets tonight.

Pavelec has been great lately winning five of his last seven starts and drastically improving his numbers. He posted a 2.44 GAA and .915 SV% over that seven game span moving his GAA under 3.00 (2.87) and SV% right to the .900 line. He has a good chance to get back in the win column tonight vs. Florida.

Ondrej Pavelec
Miller gets the nod tonight for the Sabres.

Miller has won three of his last four starts while posting a 2.16 GAA and .932 SV%. He has a fairly tough matchup tonight against a skilled Hurricanes team, however Justin Peters will be in net for the Hurricanes so the Sabres have the upper-hand in goal.

Ryan Miller
Bryzgalov will start tonight for the Flyers.

Bryzgalov has won his last two starts while posting a 1.00 GAA and .966 SV%. He has been solid this season, he is 11-9-1 with a 2.61 GAA and .907 SV%. He has a tough matchup tonight against the Rangers, he will need to outplay Henrik Lundqvist if he is going to record the win.

Ilya Bryzgalov
Corey Crawford is first goaltender off the ice during #Blackhawks' morning skate.

Crawford and the Blackhawks will look to keep their amazing streak of recording a point in 22 games alive tonight when they play the Minnesota Wild. You can't bench a guy who 10-0-3 with a 1.41 GAA and .945 SV% but the Wild have won three of their last four and have the talent to give Chicago a run.

Corey Crawford
Tuukka Rask is 1st goalie off the ice for the Verizon Center morning skate and it looks like he'll get the start vs Washington

Rask finally had his winning streak snapped at five when he was on the losing end of a 4-3 game vs. the Habs. He will look to start a new winning streak tonight when the Bruins face the Capitals. He is a must-start in all formats.

Tuukka Rask
Steve Mason gets the nod between the pipes for #CBJ tonight

Mason has lost each of his last three starts allowing nine goals on 96 shots (.906 SV%). He has a solid matchup tonight vs. an Oilers team that sits 14th in the Western Conference. However Mason hasn't been a good fantasy option this season and with all the injuries Columbus is dealing with he likely won't be.

Steve Mason
#CBJ D Nikita Nikitin not playing tonight. Not quite ready. Range of motion in neck an issue.

Nikitin took a hard spill into the boards on Sunday against the Avalanche. Nikitin left the game and did not return, the Blue Jackets were hoping to have him back today but that won't be the case. He could be back for Columbus' next game on Thursday.

Nikita Nikitin
The #Flyers have recalled Eric Wellwood from the #ADKPhantoms He will be available for the game tonight against the #NYRangers #NHL

Wellwood has 12 points in 43 games in the AHL this season and has 10 points in his 31 career NHL games. He isn't expected to play a prominent role in the Flyers offense.
