NHL Hockey Player News

Dach (lower-body) will return to Montreal's lineup in Edmonton on Thursday.

Dach has not played in Montreal's previous three games, recovering from a lower-body injury, but will return to the lineup on Thursday against the Edmonton Oilers. The 24-year-old Dach is averaging 14:29 time-on-ice and has two points (1G / 1A) in five games this season.

Kirby Dach
Talbot is expected to start on Long Island on Thursday.

The Red Wings' five-game winning streak snapped last night in a 4-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres in the front end of a back-to-back. They will switch to Talbot between the pipes on Thursday against the New York Islanders. The 38-year-old Talbot has been sensational early in the 2025-26 season, posting a 1.78 GAA and .932 SV% in four appearances (3-0-0). The Red Wings enter Thursday's contest as +115 road underdogs against an Islanders team riding a three-game winning streak.

Cam Talbot
Marchment (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision in Winnipeg on Thursday.

Marchment was starting to find his rhythm in Seattle, scoring three points (0G / 3A) in his last three games, but could miss Thursday's contest against the Winnipeg Jets due to an undisclosed injury. The 30-year-old Marchment was traded from the Dallas Stars to the Seattle Kraken in the offseason, and has four points (1G / 3A) in his first six games with his new team.

Mason Marchment
Stone (wrist) has been placed on LTIR and is still considered week-to-week.

Stone was limited to only 13:12 time-on-ice in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Calgary Flames, exiting the contest due to a wrist injury, and has been sidelined since. The 33-year-old Stone scored four points (2G / 2A) before departing the game, and has 13 points (2G / 11A) in six contests this season. He was given a week-to-week timeline, but will be sidelined for at least one month after being placed on Long-Term Injured Reserve.

Mark Stone
Barron (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision vs. Seattle on Thursday.

Barron has been productive early in the 2025-26 season for the Jets, scoring five points (3G / 2A) in six games. The 26-year-old forward scored a career-high 21 points (8G / 13A) in 70 games in the 2022-23 season. It's unclear if Barron will be ready to play when the Jets return to action on Thursday against the Seattle Kraken.

Morgan Barron
Rielly (undisclosed) missed practice on Thursday and is uncertain if he will play vs. Buffalo on Friday.

Rielly showed no signs of an injury in Toronto's most recent game, playing a season-high 24:30 time-on-ice, but was absent from practice on Thursday. The 31-year-old Rielly is off to an impressive offensive start to the season, scoring six points (2G / 4A) in seven games.

Morgan Rielly
Boeser (personal) will return to Vancouver's lineup vs. Nashville on Thursday.

Boeser did not play in Vancouver's previous two games, tending to a personal matter, but will return to the lineup on Thursday against the Nashville Predators. The 28-year-old Boeser has three points (3G / 0A) and 10 shots through five games this season.

Brock Boeser
Luchanko will be a healthy scratch in Ottawa on Thursday.

Rodrigo Abols will draw back into Philadelphia's lineup on Thursday against the Ottawa Senators, sending Luchanko to the sidelines as a healthy scratch. The 19-year-old Luchanko, the 19th-overall pick by the Flyers in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, has zero points and a -3 plus/minus through four games this season.

Jett Luchanko
Vladar will start in Ottawa on Thursday.

Expected to be Philadelphia's backup, or at best, a time-share goalie with Samuel Ersson, Vladar has made an early-season case for extra playing time and returns to the crease on Thursday against the Ottawa Senators. The 28-year-old Vladar has been near-perfect early in the 2025-26 season, posting an outstanding 1.75 GAA and .929 SV% in four games (3-1-0). That said, in five previous NHL seasons, Vladar has had a save percentage above .900 only once. The Flyers enter Thursday's contest as +138 road underdogs against a struggling Senators team that has been outscored 33-22 this season (2-4-1).

Dan Vladar
Wedgewood will start vs. Carolina on Thursday.

Mackenzie Blackwood (lower body) is nearing a return to the lineup for Colorado, but the team has no reason to deviate from Wedgewood, who has been outstanding filling in as the starting goalie. The 33-year-old Wedgewood has been between the pipes for every Colorado game this season, yet to lose in regulation (5-0-2), posting a tremendous 1.84 GAA and .927 SV%. The Avalanche enter the action on Thursday as -129 home favorites against a Carolina Hurricanes team coming off their first loss of the season (5-1-0).

Scott Wedgewood
Pickard will start vs. Montreal on Thursday.

The Oilers have been inconsistent to start the 2025-26 season, scoring only 18 goals (2.57 GF / GP) through seven games (3-3-1), totals that are not aligned with an offense led by Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. Pickard will be between the pipes on Thursday against the Montreal Canadiens, looking to build on a 2.54 GAA and .865 SV% through two games (1-1-0). The Oilers enter Thursday's action as sizable -216 home favorites against a Montreal Canadiens team that played last night, defeating the Calgary Flames 2-1 in overtime.

Calvin Pickard
Oettinger will start vs. Los Angeles on Thursday.

After winning their first three games of the season, the Stars have lost three straight, outscored 13-5, and will hope to return to the win column on Thursday against the Los Angeles Kings. The Stars' tepid start to the season doesn't fall exclusively on Oettinger, who has been serviceable between the pipes, but he has allowed four or more goals in three of five games this season (3-2-0), which is out of character for the All-Star netminder. Still, the Stars enter Thursday's contest as -141 home favorites against a Kings team that has been outscored 25-19 early in the 2025-25 season (2-3-2).

Jake Oettinger
Jarry will start in Florida on Thursday.

The Penguins have received strong tandem goaltending from Tristan Jarry and Arturs Silovs, helping guide them to an impressive 5-2-0 start to the season. The 30-year-old Jarry will return to the crease on Thursday against the Florida Panthers, looking to build on a solid 2.35 GAA and .922 SV% through three games (2-1-0). The Penguins enter the action on Thursday as +168 road underdogs against a Panthers team that snapped a three-game losing skid in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Boston Bruins.

Tristan Jarry
Wood will make his season debut vs. Vancouver on Thursday.

Wood was with the Predators to start the season but was a healthy scratch in their first game and ultimately reassigned to the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) shortly after. The 20-year-old forward scored one point (0G / 1A) in his first six NHL games last season and will make his 2025-26 debut on Thursday against the Vancouver Canucks.
