Ferland suffered the concussion in his NHL debut on Friday vs. the Predators. He was hit in the head by Anton Volchenkov, who was suspended for four games on Sunday. Sven Baertschi was recalled to play in Ferland's spot.
Frederik Andersen is out with minor leg tightness, so LaBarbera has been recalled to serve as John Gibson's backup.
The Ducks have recalled Jason LaBarbera from Norfolk (AHL) on an emergency basis to backup John Gibson tonight in Colorado. Andersen is listed as day-to-day.
Gibson has won two of three with a 1.02 GAA and .964 SV% since being recalled, so I think it safe to say he has earned tonight's start. If you were able to buy-low on Gibson last week, give yourself a high-five. He will have Jason LaBarbera as his backup tonight with Frederik Andersen out with "minor league tightness".
Hall was injured on Saturday night when he went crashing into the post. Hall had been off to a great start, scoring 10 points (6G / 4A) in the first 11 games. Edmonton is going to be in trouble without Hall for at least two weeks, but they have talent that can step up in his absence, it is just a matter of if they do or not.
Kopitar missed the last three games with an upper-body injury, but should be back in the lineup today vs. Carolina. He had just two goals and one assist in the first eight games, but with Gaborik also back on his wing tonight, expect both of them to get going.
Gaborik said on Saturday that he was "very close" to returning, looks like he was not kidding and he will be back today. Gabo missed the last eight games with an undisclosed injury, but look for him to skate on the top-line today vs. the Canes. He had one assist in three contests before being hurt.
Quick allowed four goals on 34 shots in Friday's loss to the Red Wings. After winning five in a row, Quick has dropped each of his last two games while allowing seven goals on 77 shots (.909 SV%). However, he is a must-start regardless of his matchup and it happens that he has a glorious matchup today.
Ward stopped all 25 shots that he faced in the 3-0 win over the Coyotes last night. It was Ward's first shutout since March of 2012 and the Canes first win on the season. It has been a struggle so far and despite getting in the win column last night, they will be in tough tonight vs. the Kings.
Larsson, 22, has been recalled to fill-in for Marcus Foligno who is banged up. Larson has three goals and five assists (8 points) in nine games with Rochester this season. He has totalled four assists in 29 career NHL games.
Neuvirth surrendered four goals on 37 shots in a loss to the Maple Leafs on Tuesday. He got no help at all. The Sabres only managed to fire TEN shots at the Toronto net, so Neuvirth would have had to be ridiculous to get to a shootout tied 0-0. He gets the call tonight vs. the Red Wings, but look at the other options.

Klein still has a lot of swelling in his foot after blocking a Jacob Trouba slapper on Saturday. With Ryan McDonagh out as well the Rangers will call up two defensemen this afternoon.
Hiller surrendered three goals on 31 shots in the Flames win over Nashville on Friday. Hiller's success continues and he will make his third consecutive start tonight in Montreal. He is 4-2-1 with a 1.82 GAA and .941 SV% so far this season and is a low-end number-1 option right now.
Lack allowed seven goals on 48 shots in a blowout loss to the Avalanche in his last start on October 24th. He has allowed 12 goals on 87 shots (.862 SV%) in his first three starts of the season. He will look to be better tonight against a Predators team who are off to a 6-2-2 start to the year.
Horvat's two weeks conditioning stint is up and has been recalled. Horvat failed to record a point in five games in Utica. He could be in the lineup on Sunday with Alex Burrows suspended.
Talbot stopped all 12 shots that he faced in a relief effort of Henrik Lundqvist on October 12th. He only made two appearances in October, but the Rangers said he will see more playing time in the month of November. He has allowed four goals on 35 shots (.886 SV%) this season.
McDonagh suffered the injury on Saturday on a hit from Evander Kane. This is a tough break for the Rangers, who are already without Dan Boyle because of a broken hand. Expect the Rangers to recall a defenseman later today.
