Lack leads the Canucks onto the ice for warmups; he starts vs. Halak and the Caps.

Lack allowed two goals on 34 shots in a 3-2 shootout win over the Jets on Wednesday. After a disastrous outing in Vancouver on Monday, Lack bounced back nicely vs. Winnipeg. He will make his ninth straight start tonight, he has won three of the last eight with a 2.44 GAA and .906 SV%.

Eddie Lack
Fasth makes his second start with Edmonton.

Fasth stopped 28 of 31 shots in a 4-3 shootout victory over the Wild in his Oilers debut on Tuesday. With Ben Scrivens facing 87 shots in his last two starts and allowing six goals last night, it will be Fasth tonight in Detroit. He faces a Red Wings team without a couple of top-6 forwards, but the infusion of young talent has kept them competitive.

Viktor Fasth
Versteeg bumped up to the Blackhawks first line.

Andrew Shaw will drop to the third line, with Versteeg moving up to the top-line to play with Jonathan Toews and Brandon Saad. Versteeg has just one goal and one assist in his last eight games, a promotion should help spark some offence out of the former Panther.

Kris Versteeg
Miller will start for the Blues on Saturday.

Miller stopped 23 of 25 shots in an easy 6-2 win against the Oilers on Thursday. After losing his last start, Miller watched his offence pump four past Ben Scrivens in the third to move to 5-0-1 with the Blues. He is a must-start once again Saturday vs. the Predators.

Ryan Miller
It is likely that Viktor Fasth gets the start in goal tonight given coach Eakins' general policy regarding playing the same goaltender on back-to-back nights.

Fasth stopped 28 of 31 shots in a 4-3 shootout victory over the Wild in his Oilers debut on Tuesday. With Ben Scrivens facing 87 shots in his last two starts and allowing six goals last night, it should be Fasth tonight in Detroit. The matchup is solid because of the injuries in Detroit, however they are a young lineup right now who can pose some problems for the Oilers.

Viktor Fasth
Berglund (lower-body) only skated for a few minutes this morning after injuring his leg last night.

Berglund got tied up with Boyd Gordon in Thursday's win over the Oilers. The injury is expected to be minor, but his inability to stay on the ice this morning may suggest otherwise. Monitor his status before tomorrow's game.

Patrik Berglund
Niemi back in goal for the Sharks.

Niemi stopped 19 of 21 shots in a 6-2 win over the Maple Leafs on Tuesday. He was given the first night of the back-to-back off, but will be in goal tonight on Long Island. Niemi has won three straight starts with a 1.67 GAA and .929 SV%. He makes for a must-start tonight vs. the Islanders.

Antti Niemi
Hossa (upper-body) will not play tonight, targeting Sunday or Tuesday for a return.

Hossa will miss his fifth straight game tonight, but is hoping to be back on Sunday vs. the Red Wings. He is 11 days into a 2-3 week timeframe, so a return Sunday would be ahead of schedule, good news for the Blackhawks.

Marian Hossa
Price (lower-body) still day-to-day, no word if he will start Saturday.

Price reportedly had his best day of practice since returning from the Olympics with a lower-body injury. Price practice for over 90 minutes, but coach Michel Therrien would not divulge Saturday's starter. Monitor his status during tomorrow's morning skate.

Carey Price
Hiller starts for the Ducks.

Hiller was yanked just 8:32 into Wednesday's blowout loss to the lowly Flames. He allowed three goals on five shots before being pulled, but Frederik Andersen did not perform any better (4G on 20S). Hiller will need to forget about Wednesday and try and get back on track tonight. However, it will not be easy as they take on the Avs on the road.

Jonas Hiller
Selanne skating on Ducks' top-line with Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry.

Selanne has not scored in his last 14 games. In that span, Selanne has just three assists. Since trading Dustin Penner, Kyle Palmieri and Patrick Maroon have played on this line, tonight they will give the 43-year-old a shot with Getz and Perry.

Teemu Selanne
Ward is expected to be in goal Saturday.

Ward stopped 21 of 23 shots in a 3-2 win over the Sabres on Thursday. Ward has won two in a row while holding the opposition to three goals on 48 shots (.938 SV%). It would be his third start against the Bruins this season. In the previous two meetings, Ward is 0-1-1 with a 2.98 GAA and .910 SV%.

Cam Ward
Rinne starts for the Predators.

Rinne stopped 34 of 37 shots in a 4-3 OT win over the Senators on Monday. It was his first win since returning from an E. coli infection. After getting Tuesday night off, Rinne will be back in the crease tonight in Chicago. It is a tough matchup against the NHL's highest scoring team. The Hawks average 3.33 goals per game through their first 66 games.

Pekka Rinne
Tyutin (ankle) is "very close" could play on Saturday vs. the Wild.

Tyutin has missed the last games with an ankle injury. He is arguably the Blue Jackets best defenseman and his veteran presence on the blueline will certainly help a Columbus team in search of a playoff berth. Monitor his status during Saturday's morning skate.

Fedor Tyutin
