Porter has registered no points in nine games with the Sabres during a call-up earlier in the season. While in Rochester he had six goals and four assists in 13 games.

Ruhwedel is a 23-year-old defenseman who is in his first season with Rochester. He has recorded four goals and 10 assists with a plus-2 rating in 26 games. He appeared in seven games with the Sabres last season but failed to register a point.

McNabb shuffled in and out of the Sabres lineup playing in five of a possible 10 games during his call-up. He failed to record a point and had an EVEN rating while averaging 16:12 TOI.

Adam served as a healthy scratch on Saturday but had appeared in the previous nine games. He registered one goal and zero assists during his time with the Sabres. Kevin Porter has been recalled to take his place on the roster.

Pysyk had no goals and four assists with a minus-11 rating in 31 games with the Sabres this season. He was a healthy scratch on Saturday and will be replaced by Chad Ruhwedel who is coming up from Rochester.

As laid out in the collective bargaining agreement, the appeal first goes to Commissioner Gary Bettman. If Bettman upholds the suspension, Thornton and the NHLPA can then elect to appeal to a neutral arbitrator.

Giguere allowed three goals on 21 shots in a loss to the Canucks on December 8. It was his first loss of the season after winning his first seven starts. He is expected to make his third start at home tomorrow vs. the Stars, he is 2-0-0 with a 1.50 GAA and .952 SV% in his first two starts in Colorado.

Luongo allowed two goals on 41 shots in a 6-2 win over the Bruins on Saturday. Luongo is sizzling right now having won his last five straight start with a GAA of 1.19 and .962 SV%. Tuesday's matchup is not great, but he is a must-start in all formats.

Lehtonen allowed four goals on 38 shots in a win over the Jets on Saturday. Despite giving up three-plus goals in five straight games, Lehtonen is 2-2-1. He will take on the Avalanche for the second time this season. In the first contest he gave up three goals on 29 shots in a 3-2 OT loss.

Lecavalier said he is making slow progress and hopes to skate again on Tuesday. His original timetable was 3-4 weeks and it has only been one week, so consider Vinny week-to-week still.

Potter has been in and out of the Oilers lineup throughout the season so his loss would not leave too big of a hole on the blueline. He has skated in nine games recording three assists.

Morin skated in 15 games with the Blackhawks recording one goal and four assists and a plus-2 rating. He has been reassigned with Bryan Bickell being activated from IR. He returns to Rockford where he has six goals and 12 points in 13 games.

Bickell has not played since November 19 against the Avalanche. In 22 games this season he has registered five goals and one assist. With his activation from IR the Blackhawks have returned Jeremy Morin to the AHL. Bickell will likely make up one of the NHL's best third lines with Andrew Shaw and Brandon Saad.

Helm missed the last six games and won't play tomorrow vs. the Ducks. In 15 games he has registered seven goals and three assists. He is a key part of the Red Wings forward corp and his return would be big for a team who is struggling right now.

Abdelkader left Saturday's game after being hit to the head by Derek Engelland and did not play against the Lightning on Saturday. He is expected to miss the Red Wings games tomorrow and Thursday but he could be back for Saturday's contest in Toronto.

Iginla injured his hand in a fight with Ryan Kesler on Saturday. He left the game briefly but did return to finish the game despite his hand looking very gruesome. Monitor his status during Tuesday's morning skate.

Bogosian has been out since October 15 but is feeling better. There is still no timeline for his return, but he has been upgraded to day-to-day. Head coach Claude Noel doesn't expect him to play on this trip.

If he were to meet the team at one of their four stops, Doan could start skating at that time. But, considering he’s remaining in the Valley for now, a return to the ice isn’t imminent. “His weight is pretty the same,” Tippett said. “When you’re sick, you’ve got some fatigue, and that’s going to take a few days to get over. I think that’s the biggest issue right now.”

Horton continues to progress well following offseason shoulder surgery. He is now inching closer to being day-to-day rather than week-to-week.

McElhinney will not dress tonight but this is positive news that he will not be out for long. After tonight, the Blue Jackets are back in action on Thursday, monitor McElhinney's status leading up to their matchup with the Flyers.
