Raanta expected to get the call for the Blackhawks.

Raanta stopped 32 of 34 shots in win over the Coyotes last Saturday. In his first two NHL starts he is 2-0-0 with a 2.00 GAA and .929 SV%. He will make his third start tonight vs. Anaheim as the Hawks are in the tail-end of a back-to-back. He will usually be a strong spot-start option because of how good Chicago is, however the matchup tonight is likely one that should be avoided.

Antti Raanta
Ward is expected to get the nod for the Hurricanes.

Ward stopped 27 of 30 shots in a loss to the Canucks on Sunday. He was given the next two starts off but will be back in net tonight in the second game of a back-to-back. In 13 starts he is 4-5-4 with a 2.90 GAA ad .908 SV%. He draws a tough assignment tonight as the Sharks come to town.

Cam Ward
Luongo starts for the Canucks.

Luongo stopped 30 of 31 shots in a win over the Predators on Tuesday. It was a great bounce-back game for Luongo who was lit up for three goals on 10 shots in his previous outing. He has a 2.35 GAA and .914 SV% in 25 appearances this season.

Roberto Luongo
Stalock starts for the Sharks.

Stalock allowed one goal on three shots in a relief effort on Thursday. He will get the call tonight in the second game of a back-to-back and will face the Hurricanes. When called upon this season, Stalock has been rock solid, posting a 3-0-0 record and 1.55 GAA and .944 SV%. He faces a Carolina team who have won two straight while outscoring their opponents 9-3.

Alex Stalock
Backstrom starts for the Wild.

Backstrom allowed two goals on 25 shots in a loss to the Coyotes last Wednesday. Whether it is the lack of starts or something else, Backstrom has not been himself this season. A career 2.44 GAA and .916 SV% - he sits at 2-3-2 with a 2.78 GAA and .896 as the Wild's number-2 this season.

Niklas Backstrom
Daley (ankle) is expected to be out for "weeks" according to Stars head coach Lindy Ruff.

Daley will join Stephane Robidas on IR as top-4 defensemen that the Stars will be without for an extended period of time. Daley had a goal and four assists in the first 27 games this season. Jamie Oleksiak and Kevin Connauton will now be featured on the Stars blueline quite frequently over the next few weeks.

Trevor Daley
Garbutt (lower-body) is expected to play on Saturday against the Flyers.

Garbutt missed Thursday's game in Toronto after being injured on Tuesday in Chicago. He has five goals and two assists in 21 games, with three goals and two assists coming in his last four games. He is not a viable fantasy asset.

Ryan Garbutt
The Rangers have recalled J.T Miller from Hartford (AHL).

In 15 games with the Rangers this season he has one goal and one assist with a minus-4 rating. He has been recalled as the Rangers extra forward with Derek Dorsett battling a wrist issue. While in the AHL, Miller racked up five goals and an assist in six games. He was their 15th overall pick in 2011.

J.T. Miller
The Rangers have traded Brandon Mashinter to the Blackhakws for Kyle Beach.

This is a minor league deal. Beach was the 11th overall pick in the 2008 NHL Draft, but has yet to make his NHL Debut. He had 26 points and 204 PIMs in 66 games with Rockford last season and has four goals in seven games this season. He will report to Hartford, the Rangers' AHL affiliate.

The Rangers have traded Brandon Mashinter to the Blackhakws for Kyle Beach.

This is a minor league deal. Mashinter is 25-years-old and has not recorded a point while piling up 27 PIMs in 23 career NHL games. He had a goal and an assist in 11 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack this season and will report to Rockford, Chicago's AHL affiliate.

Brandon Mashinter
Francois Beauchemin (upper body) is on the trip but just to "get in shape" with the team, but is not close to returning according head coach Bruce Boudreau.

Beauchemin will miss his seventh consecutive game tonight after being injured on November 20 vs. New Jersey. From the sounds of what Bourdreau is saying, Beauchemin remains week-to-week at this point.

Francois Beauchemin
Halak starts on Saturday.

Halak stopped 22 of 23 shots in a win over the Islanders on Thursday. It was the fourth time in his last five starts that Halak has allowed one or fewer goals as he holds a 4-1-0 record with a 1.40 GAA and .944 SV% over that span. He will take on the Ducks in St. Louis tomorrw where he is 9-1-2 on the year.

Jaroslav Halak
Anderson starts on Saturday vs. the Leafs.

Anderson finally got off the schnide on Tuesday when he stopped 30 of 32 shots in a win over the Panthers. Prior to Tuesday he had allowed 23 goals in his previous six starts. He draws a tough matchup on Saturday when he faces the Maple Leafs. He allowed four goals on 42 shots in a 5-4 loss to the Maple Leafs on October 5th.

The Hurricanes have recalled Zach Boychuk from Charlotte (AHL).

Boychuk has not appeared in a game with the Hurricanes this season. In 22 games with Charlotte he recorded nine goals and 19 points with a minus-7 rating. Carolina placed Mike Komisarek on IR in order to recall Boychuk.

Zach Boychuk
Mike Komisarek on IR with a lower-body injury.

Komisarek was injured in Thursday's win over the Predators after playing just 4:14. His injury leaves the Hurricanes with five healthy defensemen although it appears that veteran Tim Gleason is nearing a return. His placement on IR means Komisarek will miss at least the next seven days.

Lupul was a full participant at Maple Leafs practice this morning, but his status for Saturday's game remains up in the air.

Lupul has missed the last five games with a groin injury that he suffered on November 25 against the Blue Jackets. He was expected to miss two weeks so if he returns tomorrow it would be a few days earlier than expected, but his particpation in practice suggests that he should be good to go. Monitor his status during Saturday's morning skate.

Joffrey Lupul
McGrattan is very doubtful to play tonight according to Flames head coach Bob Hartley due to general body soreness.

McGratten is a tough-guy and is not fantasy relevant, if he is unable to play then the Flames will go with seven defenseman if Joe Colborne is also unable to go. Lane MacDermid and Derek Smith are the two players that would enter the lineup.

Brian McGrattan
Colborne did not skate this morning and is a game-time decision tonight because of the flu.

Colborne has skated in all 26 games since arriving in Calgary via trade from Toronto. He has averaged 13:01 TOI and has three goals and five assists with a minus-3 rating. If Colborne is unable to go, Lane MacDermid would enter the lineup in his place.

Joe Colborne
Hiller starts for the Ducks.

Hiller shut the door on 49 of 51 shots but still left the arena on the wrong end of a 3-2 shootout final. Despite the loss Hiller was fabulous against a good Kings team and the Ducks will need the same effort out of him tonight when they are in Chicago to take on the Blackhawks.
