Line Change

Voynov will get his third preseason game tonight, and Terry Murray recently said he believed Voynov to be “ahead’’ of Thomas Hickey in terms of readiness to grab an NHL spot.

Voynov impressed so far and should be on everyone's shortlist. Last season the Russian import scored 15 goals and 51 points for the Manchester Monarchs. He could easily be used in place of Drew Doughty should the latter continue his now infamous holdout.

Kesler took a quick twirl to test hip. Off now.

The 'twirl' was actually part of his recovery. Expected to be out until November, the second line center should be a welcome addition to a banged-up Canucks team. Feel free drafting him from the third round on.

Line Change

Second line has Hodgson centring Sturm and Samuelsson.

Sturm on the second line could be a decent fit as he struggled previously in a checking role. Last season, the German winger scored five goals and 16 points in an injury-marred season. Should he stick on the second line, look for him to approach 20 goals for the seventh time in his career.

Manny Malhotra(Center)(C)|Free Agent FA

Injury

Third is Malhotra between Hansen and Higgins.

Good sign that Malhotra is practicing. Although he was cleared to play in the Stanley Cup Finals, Malhotra was held out earlier in the preseason. The checking line center scored 11 goals and 30 points last season but the jury is still out on whether he will be an effective NHL player.

Cory Sarich(Defenseman)(D)|Inactive INA

Injury

Cory Sarich donned a regular practice jersey for the first time this morning, as he was a full participant in the skate. He won't play tonight, and may not play any preseason action either, but it's very likely he'll start the season. That's a good thing in my eyes, as Sarich is still an NHL defender, and can give you some value on your third pairing

Sarich paired with Mark Giordano last season and was expected to help round out the top-four this season. He scored four goals and 17 points last season in 76 games. Look for him to post similar numbers, if healthy, which makes him irrelevant in fantasy hockey terms.

Raitis Ivanans(Left Wing)(LW)|Inactive INA

Injury

Finally, Raitis Ivanans was back on the ice practicing with the team for the first time since November 2010, as major concussion issues have kept him on the sidelines for nearly a year. He was the extra forward and won't play tonight, but looks ready to return.

With a whoppinig 18 points over 281 career NHL games, don't expect much from Ivanans. He will likely need to prove himself recovered before dropping the gloves again, which eliminates nearly all his fantasy hockey value.

Jarome Iginla(Right Wing)(RW)|Free Agent FA

Injury

Jarome Iginla didn't skate once again, however there's a chance he may be back on the ice tomorrow as he continues to recover from back spasms. I'd be surprised if Iginla played a preseason game, but there's a pretty good chance he'll be in the lineup to start the regular season on October 8th.

Iginla should return to the lineup and score his usual 30+ goals. Last season, Iginla scored 43 goals and 86 points over 82 games while captaining the Flames. If age isn't a concern, this minor injury should't be.

Tim Jackman(Right Wing)(RW)|

Injury

According to Feaster, a minor groin injury. RT: @jolsen11 what's wrong with jackman? #Flames

Jackman scored 10 goals and 23 points last season in his breakout campaign. He could be valuable if he could keep that production up and combine it with 150+ PIM.

Injury

Two of the Chicago Blackhawks' most dynamic offensive players, Patrick Kane and Marian Hossa, will make their preseason debuts Wednesday night against the Detroit Red Wings at the United Center.

Kane should easily be 100 percent by the beginning of the season, hopefully adding center to his fantasy hockey resume. Draft accordingly, gamers.
