Both Brian Elliott and Ben Bishop have a chance at taking games away from Jaroslav Halak. The 24-year-old posted a 3-4-0 record last season with a 2.77 GAA and .899 SV%. He would be the more high-end option of the two and probably would be called up if Halak was injured.

Both Brian Elliott and Ben Bishop have a chance at taking games away from Jaroslav Halak. Elliott, as the more established option, was the starting goalie for both the Colorado Avalanche and Ottawa Senators -- performing poorly with both clubs. He will be out to prove his down season was a result of a poor team and not his skill level.

Blues forward Matt D'Agostini practiced today for the first time since being pulled from last Thursday's lineup with a lower-body injury.

Good news for the sniping D'Agostini. Last year the former Montreal Canadien broke out by scoring 21 goals. If you are in the need for a decent depth winger, the 24-year-old should be able to fill a spot and score at or above replacement level.

Nichol is recovering from surgery this summer on a torn labrum in his left shoulder. He has been practicing with the Blues since the start of training camp Sept. 16, but he has yet to be cleared to participate in exhibition games.

Nichol scored four goals and seven points in 56 games with the Sharks last season. Chalk him up for around 15-20 points and 80 PIM at the absolute most centering the fourth line.

We thought he was going to bring some energy, give us some good depth, but with Ryan Johnson and (Cory) Emmerton, (Fabian) Brunnstrom, (Tomas) Tatar, we've got some guys that can continue to push and give us depth.

Tatar is the team's top forward prospect. Last season, Tatar scored 24 goals and 57 points with the team's minor league affiliate Grand Rapid Griffins, earning a nine-game audition with the big club. He likely only makes the team if an offensive role opens up for him.

The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
