Injury update: Flyers defenseman Cam York is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
— Philadelphia Flyers (@NHLFlyers) December 4, 2025It still isn’t quite clear when York was hurt. He was in action on Wednesday night against the Buffalo Sabres, with his last shift coming late in the second period. York was involved in the scrum after Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin hit Flyers forward Trevor Zegras into the boards. It resulted in Dahlin receiving a five-minute major for boarding and a game misconduct. He didn’t see the ice for the rest of the game.
It has yet to be reported if York was injured in the scrum or earlier in the game. The 24-year-old registered just 10:37 of ice time across 17 shifts. He finished the game with a plus/minus of -1, putting a shot on goal while blocking another. The Flyers went on to win the game, 5-2.
York joins an injured list that involves a couple of prominent names, as Tyson Foerster has been ruled out for the next couple of months with an upper-body injury. Blueliner Rasmus Ristolainen is still on the shelf while recovering from triceps surgery.
York has played in 23 of the Flyers’ first 26 games of the season, scoring a goal and 11 assists for 12 points. The rearguard, who has spent most of the time on the top pair with Travis Sanheim, has a -4 rating while averaging 23:31 of ice time.
The Anaheim, Calif. native entered the 2025-26 season with a new five-year contract that he signed in July. The deal has an AAV of $5.15 million through the 2029-30 campaign.
The Flyers (15-8-3) sit third in the Metropolitan Division. The team is off until Sunday when it hosts the Colorado Avalanche.
