Blues’ Jordan Kyrou undergoes knee procedure, expected back for training camp

While the Stanley Cup playoffs are off and running, the offseason has already begun for NHL teams that missed the playoffs. That means for any of their players that were playing through bumps and bruises, now is the time to get any needed treatment and heal up over the summer.
On Thursday, the St. Louis Blues announced that forward Jordan Kyrou underwent a minor procedure on his knee, and is expected to be ready for the start of next season’s training camp.

The exact injury being treated with the procedure, or the exact procedure itself, remains undisclosed. Kyrou did miss time this past season with a lower-body injury, so it’s possible this procedure is related to that injury.
Kyrou, 27, had 18 goals and 28 assists for 46 points in 72 games this past season. He finished fifth on the Blues in goals and points, and tied for fourth in assists.
This past season was certainly a down year for Kyrou, as he finished with the fewest points in his career out of any season in which he played at least 70 games.
Initially selected by St. Louis in the second round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, the Toronto native just completed his sixth full-time NHL season, all with the Blues. His best season to date came in 2021-22, when he scored 27 goals and added 48 assists for 75 points in 74 games while being named to the All-Star Game.
Kyrou has now finished the third season of an eight-year, $65 million contract with St. Louis that carries a no-trade clause until the final year of the deal in 2030-31, when it will instead have modified no-trade clause.
The Blues were rumored to have been taking calls on Kyrou prior to this year’s trade deadline. If St. Louis were to explore moving him this offseason, he would have to approve any deal before it could be finalized.
