Skoog made his NHL debut last season, recording two assists in three games with the Florida Panthers, but has otherwise exclusively played at the AHL level. The undrafted 26-year-old product of Boston University spent most of the 2025-26 season with the Charlotte Checkers (AHL), scoring 37 points (18G / 19A) in 61 games.

With Sam Bennett (lower body) returning to the lineup on Wednesday, Skoog will head to the sidelines as a healthy scratch. The 26-year-old Skoog recently made his NHL debut, averaging 15:32 time-on-ice and going without a point in two games.

Skoog was an undrafted free agent out of Boston University, who is in his third year in the AHL. He has scored 18 goals and 19 assists (37 points) in 59 games with Charlotte this season, and would make his NHL debut on Saturday if he gets into the Panthers' lineup.

Skoog will return for a third season with Charlotte (AHL) after signing a one-year, two-way contract with Florida on Wednesday. The 26-year-old centre was undrafted out of Boston University (NCAA) and made his minors debut in 2023-24. Last season, he scored nine goals, added 24 points, and accumulated 63 penalty minutes in 72 games with Charlotte.
