Boston Bruins News

Krejci (lower-body) could return to the Bruins lineup on Wednesday.

Krejci practiced on Tuesday, but was ruled out prior to the game. The Bruins did not have a morning skate because of the back-to-back, but coach Julien said that Krejci is a possibility for tonight. Monitor his status during pre-game warmups, which start at 7:30 PM ET.

Rask leads the Bruins onto the ice for warmups.

Rask stopped 29 of 31 shot attempts in the Bruins shootout loss to the Senators on Saturday afternoon. Rask has dropped four of his last five starts with a 3.37 GAA and .887 SV%. Tonight he draws a tough matchup in Nashville, but the goaltending matchup between Rask vs. Rinne should be excellent.

Rask allowed three goals on 21 shots in Thursday’s loss to the Blackhawks. Rask has lost three of his last four while allowing a combined 15 goals on 119 shots (.874 SV%). It has not been a pretty stretch for Rask, but look for him to get back on track this afternoon vs. the Senators.

Rask gets the call vs. Chicago.

Rask allowed two goals on 26 shots in the Bruins win over Arizona on Saturday. Rask had lost four of five entering play on Saturday, but the win hopefully has him back on track heading into a big matchup vs. the Blackhawks. Rask has gone 9-3-1 with a 1.99 GAA and .931 SV% at home this season.

Krejci (lower-body) is likely out tonight.

Krejci, who has been practicing with the team, took part in the Bruins morning skate but stayed on after the majority of the team left the ice, which is a sign that he will be a scratch tonight vs. the Blackhawks. However, he is very close and has not been officially ruled out.

The Bruins have sent David Pastrnak back to Providence (AHL).

Pastrnak served as a healthy scratch in the Bruins win over Arizona on Saturday. The 2014 first round pick (25th overall) had one assist in five games during his recall. He heads back to the AHL where he has five goals and 13 assists (18 points) in 18 games.

Rask allowed seven goals on 44 shots in the Burins 7-4 loss vs. San Jose on Thursday. It was a rough night to say the least, but the Bruins will give him a chance to bounce back right away tonight in Arizona. The B’s are off until Thursday after tonight so it would be good for Rask to go into a lengthy break on a high note.

Rask stopped 25 of 28 shots in the Bruins loss to the Ducks on Monday. He was given Tuesday night off, but will be back in goal tonight in San Jose. He has just one win in his last four despite posting a 2.24 GAA and .925 SV%. The Sharks are not playing great right now and Rask has never lost two San Jose in three career starts, so don’t hesitate with Rask.

Rask allowed a single goal on 36 shots in Friday’s overtime win over Winnipeg. The win snapped a short two-game losing streak and got Rask to 11-6-1 with a 2.31 GAA and .919 SV% on the year. Tonight he draws a tough matchup on the road against the Ducks—Rask is 2-3-0 away from Boston this year.

The Bruins have placed David Krejci (lower-body) on injured reserve.

Krejci continues to battle a nagging lower-body injury that has cost him eight of the last games. His IR move is retroactive to November 18th which means he can return whenever he is healthy. He has been moved to IR to make room for the Bruins to recall Craig Cunningham.

Rask allowed two goals on 23 shots in a 2-0 loss to the Bruins on Saturday. He struggles vs. the Habs continued and things don’t get any easier with the Penguins in town. We are nearing the end of November and so far Rask is 6-2-0 with a 1.89 GAA and .933 SV% this month.

Krejci (lower-body) will not play on Monday.

Krejci will miss his third straight game and it is the seventh of the last eight games he has missed. Bruins head coach Claude Julien said that Krejci suffered a setback last week but “it’s not something that we’re going to have to manage all year.” That is positive news, but at this point it doesn’t sound like Krejci is close to playing.
