Lyon will start Tuesday against the Canadiens.

Lyon entered Sunday’s game against the Rangers after Michal Neuvirth went down with a lower-body injury, making 25 saves on 26 shots en route to picking up the win for the Flyers. Despite his strong play on Sunday, the Flyers still felt it necessary to acquire Petr Mrazek from the Red Wings, though Lyon is still expected to see some starts so long as Neuvirth and Brian Elliot are both sidelined. He draws a strong matchup tonight at home against the Canadiens.

It was an unfortunate end to a strong stretch of games for Bishop, who had been 6-3-1 with a .934 SV% over his previous ten starts. He has a decent matchup tonight at home against the Blues.

Lyon will make his first NHL start in New Jersey.

Lyon turned aside all five shots that he faced in relief of Michal Neuvirth in his NHL debut last night. Neuvirth reportedly did not feel well during the game, so look for Lyon to get his first career start tonight in New Jersey. The 25-year-old is a bit of an unknown and is the fourth goalie on the Flyers depth chart but with injuries he’ll get his shot—he was 13-8-2 with a 2.90 GAA and .910 SV% in Lehigh Valley (AHL).
