Jost is expected to move up to the top-6 on Thursday.

Jost has recorded one goal and one assist in five games while averaging just 13:04 TOI/GM. However it looks like he might see more playing time on Thursday because he skated on the second line with Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen during Wednesday’s practice.

Tyson Jost
Andersen will start Tuesday in Washington.

Andersen gave up three goals on 34 shots in the Maple Leafs’ overtime win in Montreal on Saturday. Andersen has won four of his first five starts this season despite posting a poor 3.76 GAA and .880 SV%—thank you high-scoring offence. Tonight he will face a high-powered Capitals team who he was 1-0-1 while allowing eight goals on 64 shots (.875 SV%) against last season.

Frederik Andersen
Jost (knee) likely to return to the Avalanche lineup on Tuesday.

Jost missed the last two games with a knee injury, but was on the ice for Monday’s practice and is expected to play tomorrow in Nashville. Jost has one goal and one assist in four games this season and three points (2G / 1A) in 10 career NHL contests.

Tyson Jost
Jost (knee) has been ruled out of Friday’s game vs. Anaheim.

Jost suffered a knee injury on Wednesday and will be held out the lineup tonight vs. the Ducks. Jost was not on the ice for the morning skate, so he’s listed as day-to-day for now. Matt Nieto will draw into the lineup to take Jost’s spot in the lineup.

Tyson Jost
Jost (knee) is still being evaluated; questionable for Friday's game vs. Anaheim.

Jost recorded a goal in 13:54 TOI on Wednesday but is reportedly dealing with a knee injury in advance of Friday’s game vs. the Ducks. Jost has been elevated to the third line in recent games and comes into Friday with one goal, one assist and seven shots in four games.

Tyson Jost
Andersen will start Wednesday vs. the Devils.

Andersen allowed three goals on 21 shots in the Maple Leafs’ overtime win over the Blackhawks on Monday. Andersen has started the season 3-0-0 despite posting a 3.28 GAA and .892 SV%. The Great Dane will see a lot of rubber this season, but should have a ton of goal support. He will look to record his fourth straight win tonight vs. the Devils.

Andersen leads the Maple Leafs onto the ice for warmups.

Andersen surrendered five goals on 35 shots in the Maple Leafs’ 8-5 win over the Rangers on Saturday. It wasn’t a great statistical outing for Andersen, who has now posted a 3.50 GAA and .903 SV% in two starts, but he has received a whopping 15 goals in support so far. Toronto like to play an up-tempo, free-wheeling game so Andersen may be under siege a lot this season, but should walk away victorious more often than not.

Andersen made 35 saves on 37 shot in the Maple Leafs’ 7-2 win in Winnipeg on opening night. Andersen kept the Maple Leafs in the game early, making a number of key saves on several penalty kills in the first period. It was a great start to the season for Andersen, who will make his second start vs. a Rangers team who lost their first game to Colorado.

Andersen will start the Maple Leafs season opener in Winnipeg.

Andersen was great in his first season in Toronto, winning 33 games with a 2.67 GAA and .918 SV%, all while playing behind a Maple Leafs team that gave up the third most shots in the NHL. They are a fast paced, high octane squad so expect him to be equally busy this season, but the offence will give a lot of goal support and opportunities for wins. The opening night matchup with the Jets is a rough one—Winnipeg was seventh in the NHL in scoring last year (3.00 GF/PG).

The Jets have signed Nikolaj Ehlers to a seven-year deal worth $42 million ($6.0M AAV).

Ehlers is entering the final year of a three-year deal, so this new deal won’t kick in until 2018-19 and it runs through the 2024-25 season. The 21-year-old is coming off of a great sophomore campaign, having collected 25 goals and 39 assists (64 points) in 82 games. Ehlers is positioned for another great year as he’s poised to start the season with Patrik Laine and Bryan Little.
