Talbot will start Sunday vs. the Sabres.

Talbot allowed three goals on 35 shots in the Oilers win in Calgary on Friday. Talbot has won each of his first two starts of the season, despite allowing a combined seven goals on 76 shots (.908 SV%). Nonetheless, it has been nice start for Talbot and the Oilers, who draw a nice matchup tonight as there go up against a banged up Sabres team.

Cam Talbot
Gibson will likely start Sunday in Brooklyn.

Gibson allowed four goals on 20 shots in the Ducks’ season opening loss. Jonathan Bernier started last night in Pittsburgh, so look for Gibson to go tonight vs. the Islanders. The Ducks are off to an ugly 0-2-0 start to the season, but so are the Isles, so something has to give tonight. Gibson was 4-8-2 with a 2.74 GAA and .896 SV% vs. the Eastern Conference last season.

John Gibson
Talbot will start Friday in Calgary.

Talbot allowed four goals on 41 shots in the Oilers win over the Flames on Wednesday. It wasn’t Talbot’s best showing or an ideal start to the season, but it was enough for him to secure his first victory of the year. The Flames were extremely sloppy defensively which led to seven Oilers’ goals. He will see Calgary again tonight, this time on the road. He was 9-11-5 with a 2.55 GAA and .919 SV% on the road a season ago.

Gibson will start the Ducks' season opener in Dallas.

After splitting the crease for two seasons, Gibson takes over as the Ducks’ No.1 this year. Gibson has a career 37-21-4 with a 2.22 GAA and .920 SV% in 66 NHL games. The Ducks aren’t as deep as they normally are and their new head coach Randy Carlyle is notorious for having poor possession teams, which could hurt Gibson’s value. He draws a tough assignment tonight with the Stars in town.

Gibson will likely start Friday vs. the Canucks.

Gibson stopped all 21 shots that he faced in the Ducks win over the Flames on Wednesday. Gibson was pulled in favour of Frederik Andersen midway through the game, only to return after Andersen suffered a concussion. Gibson draws a strong matchup against a Canucks team that has lost nine of their last 10 games and come in on a back-to-back.
