Talbot will start Tuesday vs. the Coyotes.

Talbot allowed two goals on 25 shots i the Oilers win in Boston on Sunday. Talbot has won two straight while allowing a combined four goals on 47 shots (.915 SV%). Talbot enters play tonight at 4-6-0 with a 3.43 GAA and .896 SV% on home ice. Hopefully his recent play is a sign of the Oilers and Talbot turning a corner.

Talbot missed Friday’s game in Buffalo with the flu but will return to the Oilers’ crease tonight in Boston. In his last start, Talbot stopped 20 of 22 shots in a win in Detroit last Wednesday. He has been below average so far this season, but he will go head-to-head with Tuukka Rask, who has also been terrible based on his standards as well.

Gibson will start Wednesday vs. the Golden Knights.

Gibson stopped 50 of 52 shots in the Ducks’ win over the Panthers on Sunday. Because of the busy evening, Reto Berra started on Monday, so the Ducks will come back to Gibson tonight vs. Vegas. Gibson has gone 2-1-0 while stopping 125 of 131 shots (.954 SV%).

Talbot was yanked after allowing two goals on three shots in the Oilers’ 8-3 loss in St. Louis last night. The early exit will give Talbot a shot at redemption tonight in Detroit. He has gone 4-5-0 with a 3.27 GAA and .897 SV% in 10 November starts and lost his first start against the Red Wings.

Talbot gave up six goals on 21 shots in Saturday’s 6-3 loss in Dallas. Despite losing three of his last four starts while posting 3.77 GAA and .872 SV%, the Oilers will continue to roll with him tonight in St. Louis. One of those losses came against these same Blues last Thursday—he allowed four goals on 39 shots in a 4-1 loss.

Talbot allowed four goals on 39 shots in the Oilers loss to the Blues on Thursday. The 30-year-old has gone 4-4-0 with a 2.73 GAA and .917 SV% in eight starts in November and draws a rough afternoon matchup in Dallas. In his first start of the season vs. the Stars, Talbot stopped 28 of 32 shots in a 5-4 win in Edmonton.

Talbot allowed two goals on 24 shots in the Oilers’ win over the Golden Knights on Tuesday. Talbot has now won three of his last four starts as he and the Oilers look to get this season back on track after coming into the year as Stanley Cup hopefuls. However, he will be in tough against a really quality Blues team that enters play at 13-5-1.

Gibson allowed two goals on 37 shots in the Ducks’ loss to the Lightning on Sunday and the game would have been much more lopsided if it weren’t for Gibson’s play. Gibson comes into Wednesday on a personal four-game losing streak, posting a 3.14 GAA and .906 SV% in the process.

Talbot allowed two goals on 34 shots in the Oilers’ win in New Jersey on Thursday. Talbot seems to be turning things around on their current road-trip, winning his first two starts while turning aside 68 of 71 shots (.958 SV%). Tonight he will start his 15th game of the season, putting him on pace for 77 starts. He will take on a Rangers team that comes in riding a five-game winning streak.

Compher (thumb) will return to the Avalanche lineup on Friday.

Compher has missed the last six games with a broken thumb, but will get back into the lineup this afternoon in Sweden. Compher has picked up one goal and three assists (four points) in eight games this season and today he skates with Matthew Nieto and Blake Comeau in his return to the lineup.
