As a result of the move, Barkov will be forced to miss Tuesday's game but is eligible to be activated for Thursday's game vs. the Kings. Barkov was placed on IR to open up a roster spot for them to claim Jonas Johansson off of waivers from Colorado.
Tarasov went 0-2-0 while allowing just five goals on 78 shots (.936 SV%) in his first two career NHL games. The 22-year-old returns to the AHL with Joonas Korpisalo (illness) activated from IR. Tarasov is 5-2-2 with a 2.96 GAA and .897 SV% in nine AHL games this season.
Forsling has missed the last three games with an undisclosed ailment but will play Tuesday in St. Louis. Forsling had a really nice start to the season, picking up 12 assists in his first 21 games.
Barkov has missed the last eight games with a knee injury but will play Tuesday in St. Louis. Barkov, who has 17 points (9G / 8A) in 15 games, will centre the top line with Carter Verhaeghe and Maxim Mamin on his wings.
Barkov took regular reps in Monday's practice and will travel with the team to St. Louis. The Panthers say Barkov could play as early as Tuesday--it would be his first game since November 16th. Barkov has nine goals and eight assists (17 points) in 15 games this season.
Forsling suffered a lower-body injury vs. the Kraken on Saturday and is expected to miss at least a couple of weeks. With Forsling out, look for Kevin Connauton to draw back into the lineup on Tuesday.
With Anthony Duclair a late scratch on Friday and questionable to play Saturday, Heponiemi gets his first call-up of the season. Heponiemi was a second-round pick in 2017 and has scored four goals with seven assists (11 points) in 17 AHL games this season.
