Quick returned in a backup role on Tuesday but will make his first start since October 23rd. The 32-year-old is still searching for his first win of the season. Trocheck suffered a gruesome injury in Ottawa on Monday night and could miss the rest of the 2018-19 season. The Panthers likely won’t release an official timetable until after Trocheck’s surgery, but their centre depth just took a huge hit. Henrik Borgstrom could be recalled to fill-in for the 25-year-old.

Panarin missed Thursday’s game but was back in practice on Friday and will play on Saturday. Panarin re-enters the lineup with 18 points (5G / 13A) in 18 games this season.

Quick underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus and is expected to miss multiple months. His move to LTIR opens up a roster spot and provides the Kings with some cap relief.

Quick already missed five games this season with a lower-body injury and will now miss at least a couple of months following surgery to repair a torn meniscus. This is the second major injury that Quick has suffered in the last three seasons. The Kings will turn to a goaltending duo of Jack Campbell and Peter Budaj for the foreseeable future.

Quick was not available vs. the Rangers on Sunday and it sounds like he will miss an extended period of time for the second time this month. Once again the Kings will turn to Jack Campbell as their No.1 netminder and Peter Budaj will be the backup.

Dowling recorded an assist in his season debut on Tuesday, playing extremely well on the Stars second line. They will reward him with a chance to play with Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn tonight vs. the Ducks. Dowling had six points (2G / 4A) in seven games with Texas (AHL) before being called-up.

Vaakanainen was forced to leave Tuesday’s game in Ottawa after getting elbowed in the face by Mark Borowiecki. Borowiecki will face supplemental discipline from the NHL for the hit.

Quick allowed four goals on 25 shots in the Kings loss to the Sabres on Saturday. Quick has been roughed up in his first two starts since returning from injury, allowing a combined 10 goals on 54 shots (.815 SV%). Things won’t get any easier tonight vs. the Stars, who are great on home-ice and rank fifth in the NHL in shots-per game (34.4).
