Price will start Thursday vs. the Kings.

Price allowed one goal on 22 shots in the Canadiens surprising win over the Penguins last Saturday. Price has enjoyed a strong start to the season, stopping 44 of the 48 shots (.917 SV%) that he has faced. He makes for a solid option tonight vs. a Kings team averaging just 2.33 goals per game.

Price will start Saturday in Pittsburgh.

Price allowed three goals on 26 shots in the Canadiens 3-2 overtime loss to the Maple Leafs on Wednesday. Price looked more like his old self in his season debut, but still couldn’t beat a talented Toronto team. Price could post strong spots this season, but his wins are bound to be limited.

Price leads the Canadiens onto the ice for warmups.

Price was once revered as the best goalie in the NHL and one of the first goalies drafted in fantasy. He is coming off of the worst season of his career, posting a 3.11 GAA and .900 SV% across 49 games and the team in front of him only got worse this summer. Price will be a No.2 starting option throughout the season, but he is a very risky start against a high-powered Maple Leafs attack.

The Red Wings have placed Evgeny Svechnikov on the non-roster injured reserve.

Svechnikov was banged in the Red Wings’ preseason game on Saturday and it looks like it will cost him a spot in the opening night roster. The power-forward was on the bubble, but will likely make his season debut in Grand Rapids (AHL) as soon as he is healthy.

The Avalanche select Martin Kaut with the No.16 overall pick.

Kaut may come to North America for the 2019 season, but spent last year playing in the top Czech league as an 18-year-old. Playing with men, Kaut is low on the depth chart but he still picked up nine goals and seven assists (16 points) in 38 games. While getting a top-line opportunity at the World Juniors, Kaut recorded seven points (2G / 5A) in seven games. Kaut is a reliable 200-foot player who can score and set up his linemates. Kaut has drawn some comparisons to fellow Czech winger Jakub Voracek.

The Stars select Ty Dellandrea with the No.13 overall pick.

In his second season with the Flint Firebirds, assistant captain Ty Dellandrea scored 27 goals with 32 assists (59 points) in 67 games. Dellandrea is the type of player you want on your team. He possesses decent size (6-foot, 183 lbs.) and works his tail off on every shift. What sets him apart from other two-way centres, is his offensive game. Despite playing on the worst team in the OHL’s Western Conference, Dellandrea was able to raise his draft stock by leading the team in goals and finishing second in points.

The Red Wings have assigned Evgeny Svechnikov to Grand Rapids (AHL).

Svechnikov picked up two goals and two assists (four points) in 14 games during his call-up. The Red Wings season is virtually over, but the Griffins’ isn’t so Detroit will return some reinforcements. The 21-year-old has collected seven goals and 15 assists (22 points) in 52 games with Grand Rapids this season.
