Barre-Boulet was claimed off of waivers from the Lightning on Monday but did not play in their season opener on Tuesday. With Marcus Johansson landing on IR on Wednesday, Barre-Boulet will draw into the lineup tonight vs. the Predators.
Svechnikov was in Jets' training camp on a PTO and earned a one-year deal. Svechnikov is a former first-round pick (No.19 overall) of the Detroit Red Wings but injuries stunted his development over the years. In 41 career NHL games with Detroit, the 24-year-old had five goals and seven assists (12 points).
Barre-Boulet was an undrafted free agent who has put up outstanding point totals in the QMJHL and AHL. Last season he had 12 points (8G / 4A) in 10 games with Syracuse but just three goals in 15 games with the Lightning. In Seattle, he'll have a chance to make an immediate impact, especially with four forwards on the COVID-19 protocol list to open the season.

While he's away, Jake Allen will become the Canadiens' No.1 netminder and Cayden Primeau/Samuel Montembeault will work behind him.
The Sharks are hopeful that Knyzhov will be able to start skating on his own by the end of the week. Knyzhov isn't expected to be available for the preseason, putting his status for the Sharks' season opener in doubt. With Knyzhov likely out, Santeri Hatakka or Jacob Middleton could make the team out of training camp.
Samsonov doesn't appear to be in danger of missing the start of the regular season but has been held off of the ice for the last two days due to a lower-body injury. The Capitals said they are "proceeding with caution" so monitor his status as the regular season approaches.
Gaudette was acquired from the Canucks for Matthew Highmore in April and contributed one goal and three assists in seven games with the Blackhawks. Gaudette will be battling with the likes of Henrik Borgstrom, Brett Connolly and Alex Nylander for playing time in 2021-22.
