Lapierre had a solid showing in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers, recording an assist in 8:51 time-on-ice, but he will head to the sidelines as a healthy scratch on Friday against the Vegas Golden Knights. The 24-year-old Lapierre is averaging 8:28 time-on-ice and has 10 points (2G / 8A) in 57 games this season.

Lindgren will return to the crease for the first time since the Olympic break on Saturday to tend the twine against his former team, the Montreal Canadiens. Washington added to their goaltending depth on Tuesday after signing 26-year-old Mitchell Gibson to a two-year, two-way contract. The Capitals 2018 4th round pick has spent the season bouncing between the South Carolina Stingrays (ECHL) and the Hershey Bears (AHL). Gibson will have to pass through waivers before he can be loaned back to Hershey (AHL) and is expected to do so today.

Milano played the past two games for the Capitals, but will exit the lineup due to personal reasons on Thursday. The 29-year-old Milano has eight points (4G / 4A) in 31 games this seaosn. Pierre-Luc Dubois will return from a prolonged absence due to an abdominal injury and replace Milano.

Dubois has only played six games this season and has been sidelined since October 31st after undergoing surgery to address abdominal and adductor muscle injuries. The 27-year-old Dubois was struggling to start the season, scoring zero points. That said, he had a resurgent 2024-25 season, with 66 points (20G / 46A) in 82 games.
