The Capitals enter Thursday's contest as -129 road favorites against a Kraken team riding a two-game winning streak.

The Capitals have outscored their opposition 12-2 in their last four games (4-0-0), all with Thompson between the pipes, and will continue to roll with him on Tuesday against the Edmonton Oilers. Thompson has been excellent lately, saving 93 of the last 95 shots he's faced (.979 SV%) and recording two shutouts in his previous four games (4-0-0). Thompson is red hot entering Thursday night's matchup, picking up seven wins in his last eight starts. He was outstanding in his last start, stopping all 19 shots he faced in 3-0 shutout victory over the Ducks on Tuesday. The 27-year-old netminder is in the midst of a breakout campaign in his first season in Washington, posting a 19-2-3 record and a .921 SV%. Thompson and the Capitals enter action on Thursday at -110 on the money line.

Thompson has undoubtedly been the Capitals' best goalie, and despite being in a timeshare with Charlie Lindgren most of the season, he will start for the fourth straight game on Tuesday. The 27-year-old Thompson was tremendous in his most recent outing, saving 32 of 33 shots (.970 SV%) in a 4-1 win over the Nashville Predators. He has an impressive 2.32 GAA and .919 SV% in 23 games this season (18-2-3). The Capitals enter Tuesday's contest as significant -255 home favorites against an Anaheim Ducks squad coming off an impressive 3-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes.

Lindgren has been between the pipes for the last four Capitals' losses but will return to the crease on Friday against the Montreal Canadiens, the front end of a back-to-back. The 31-year-old Lindgren has a 2.70 GAA and .898 SV% in 20 games this season (10-8-2). He has allowed three or more goals in four straight (0-2-2), posting a .880 SV%. The Capitals enter Friday's contest as sizeable -211 home favorites against a Canadiens squad that is 8-2-0 in their last 10.

Frank is an undrafted forward out of Western Michigan University. The 26-year-old Frank has yet to play an NHL game. He has 28 points (20G / 8A) in 35 games with the Hershey Bears (AHL) this season. In a corresponding move, Washington has loaned Ivan Miroshnichenko to Hershey.

Miroshnichenko has four points (1G / 3A) in 18 games this season but has been held off the scoresheet in 12 straight. In a corresponding move, Washington has recalled Ethen Frank from the Hershey Bears (AHL).

Frank is an undrafted forward out of Western Michigan University. The 26-year-old Frank has yet to play an NHL game. He has 28 points (20G / 8A) in 35 games with the Hershey Bears (AHL) this season. In a corresponding move, Washington has loaned Ivan Miroshnichenko to Hershey.

Jakub Vrana will be a healthy scratch on Wednesday against the Vancouver Canucks, allowing Miroshnichenko to re-enter the lineup. The 20-year-old Miroshnichenko is averaging 9:25 time-on-ice and has four points (1G / 3A) in 17 games this season.
