Vanecek won his fifth straight start his last time out, stopping 27 of 30 shots (.900 SV%) in a 4-3 victory over Calgary. With Mackenzie Blackwood now on the injured reserve, the Devils' crease is now Vanecek's alone, as he holds a 5-1-0 record with a .908 SV% and 2.20 GAA. He takes on the Calgary Flames who are on the second of a back-to-back and are on a downward spiral after losing their fifth straight game in overtime 4-3 Monday to NYI.

Carter Hart will not dress Tuesday after it was announced he was dealing with an illness. Felix Sandstrom will replace Hart vs. St. Louis. Hart has been the Flyers' heart and soul this season, going 6-0-2 with a 1.97 GAA and .946 SV%.

Andersen left the Hurricanes' practice Tuesday early after tweaking something according to head coach Rod Brind'Amour. Carolina has called up Pyotr Kochetkov on an emergency basis from Chicago (AHL) as a reaction to today's news.

Kochetkov got the emergency recall from Chicago of the AHL after Frederik Andersen appeared to tweak something in Carolina practice Tuesday. In five starts with Chicago, he has a 2-2-1 record with a .911 SV%.

Kaut has been up and down consistently this season but when he does play, has contributed a goal and an assist along with a +2 plus/minus rating across eight games played. He was recalled from Colorado of the AHL on Tuesday.

Greiss stopped all 11 shots he faced in a relief effort his last time out as he cleaned up a tough 5-1 loss after Jordan Binnington allowed five goals. The Blues' backup has been solid despite his 0-2-0 record this season, posting a .915 SV% and 3.27 GAA. He faces off against the Philadelphia Flyers who have only won one of their last three games and have not scored more than two goals in any of those performances.

Kuraly is day-to-day after only playing 8:09 TOI in Columbus' last game in Finland. In 12 games in 2022-23 he has two goals and four points while being a -8 plus/minus rating.

Laine had just returned from an early-season injury and is now day-to-day due to an illness as his unlucky start to the season continues. In six games in 2022-23 he has two goals and an assist in six games with 24 SOG.

Gaunce has been enjoying a strong start to 2021-22 in the AHL with Cleveland, scoring 11 points (4G/7A) in his first 10 games prior to his promotion. In 148 career NHL games, he has 11 goals and 23 points.

Shesterkin struggled in his previous start, allowing four goals on 36 shots (.889 SV%) in a loss to Boston. The 2021-22 Vezina trophy winner has been solid this season, holding a 6-1-2 record with a 2.41 GAA and .916 SV% through nine starts. He faces off against state rival, the New York Islanders who is coming off a 4-3 win over Calgary in the first of their back-to-back games Monday.

Carter Hart was announced out due to illness Tuesday which meant that Samuel Ersson was called up from Lehigh (AHL) to back up Felix Sandstrom.

Sandstrom allowed five goals on 44 shots (.886 SV%) while losing his seventh game in eight career starts his last time out to Toronto. The 25-year-old has struggled this season, only seeing starts in the second half of back-to-backs while posting a 3.78 GAA and .894 SV%. He faces the St.Louis Blues who are currently on a seven-game losing streak.

Fleury allowed four goals on 23 shots (.826 SV%) as he lost 4-0 to Seattle in his last start. The 37-year-old has put up a great 5-2-1 record even while struggling with a .888 SV% and 3.41 GAA. He will face the Los Angeles Kings who are coming off a 5-4 win over Florida on Saturday.

Saros had his best start of the season his last time out, stopping 42 of 45 shots (.933 SV%) in a 4-3 win over Vancouver. He faces off against the Seattle Kraken who finds themselves on a four-game winning streak after their 3-2 win over Pittsburgh Saturday.

Girard's lower-body injury comes as somewhat of a surprise after he played a season high 23:19 TOI in the Avalanche's second game in Finland Nov. 5th vs. the Columbus Blue Jackets his last time out. It is a tough blow for the injured Avalanche who also announced Bowen Byram is week-to-week earlier Tuesday.

Byram did not play in the Avalanche's second half of their back-to-back series in Finland and was announced Tuesday that he would be out week-to-week with a lower-body injury. It is unfortunately the second straight season in which Colorado's highly touted 21-year-old will miss a significant chunk of the season due injury. He had five points (2G/3A) in his first 10 games of the season.

Nichuskin will undergo ankle surgery and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks after missing the Avalanches' last four games. Vejmelka stopped 34 of 36 shots (.944 SV%) as he won his second straight start 3-2 vs. Washington. The second year starter has been up and down this season, posting a 3-3-1 record with a 3.72 GAA and .901 SV%. He will take on the Buffalo Sabres who are coming off two straight 5-3 losses.
