Bachman starts Friday vs. the Stars.

Bachman allowed two goals and 21 shots after replacing Ben Scrivens in the Oilers 6-2 loss to the Penguins on March 12th. He only has one start this season, he allowed six goals that night. Overall he is 0-2-0 with a 5.27 GAA and .854 SV% with the Oilers this season. He should be left on free agency tonight.

Ward starts on Saturday vs. New Jersey.

Ward allowed two goals on 29 shots in the Hurricanes win over the Penguins on Thursday. It was a nice return to the crease for Ward, who had missed five games with an illness. Tonight he takes on a Devils team who have dropped their last three games.

Shattenkirk (abdomen) is expected to return to the Blues lineup on Saturday.

Shattenkirk will play in his first game since February 1st. Shattenkirk missed 25 games but the All-Star will suit up on the third pairing with Barrett Jackman as well as anchor the top-power-play unit. Shattenkirk registered 40 points (8G / 32A) in 49 games before getting injured.

Rundblad in; Rozsival out.

Rundblad has been a healthy scratch for the last three games and six of the last seven, but he will play tonight vs. the Blue Jackets. Since arriving in Chicago, the 24-year-old has 13 points (3G / 10A) in 44 games.

Lindback allowed four goals on 39 shots in the Sabres loss in Dallas on Monday. Lindback has gone 1-5-2 with a 2.67 GAA and .926 SV% since being traded to the Sabres. Tonight it looks like he will face an Avalanche team who are 4-2-1 in their last seven contests.

Datsyuk (lower-body) looks like he will return on Saturday.

Datsyuk participated in the Red Wings practice on Friday and took part in line rushes with Darren Helm and Tomas Tatar, which is a great sign that he will be available tomorrow vs. the Lightning. The Red Wings will not hold a morning skate, so monitor his status a few hours prior to game-time and during warmups.

Dubnyk will start on Thursday vs. Calgary.

Dubnyk made 37 saves on 38 shots in the Wild’s 2-1 shootout win over the Islanders on Tuesday. Dubnyk has won his last three outings and is 9-3-0 with a 1.82 GAA and .941 SV% in the month of March. He has been absurd and tonight marks his 33rd consecutive start—in the previous 32, he has gone 24-6-1 with a 1.71 GAA, .938 SV% and five shutouts.

The Flyers have recalled Brandon Manning from Lehigh Valley (AHL).

In four games after being sent down, Manning had one goal and a minus-5 rating in four games with Lehigh Valley. Overall he has had a strong year, posting 11 goals, 32 assists, 150 PIMS and a minus-11 rating. He has one assist in four games with the Flyers this season and is expected to play on Saturday.

Neuvirth will start vs. Anaheim on Saturday.

Neuvirth allowed four goals on 30 shots in the Islanders loss in Chicago on March 17th. Jaroslav Halak has started the last three games, but it will be Neuvirth today vs. the Ducks. Since arriving on Long Island, Neuvirth has gone 1-2-1 with a 2.91 GAA and .882 SV%.

The Blackhawks signed Mike Paliotta to a two-year contract on Thursday.

Paliotta, 21, was a third-round pick of the Blackhawks (70th overall) in 2011. The 6-foot-3, 201 lbs. defenseman had 36 points (9G / 27A) in 41 games at the University of Vermont this season. He really added a new-level of offence to his game this season and is expected to report to the Blackhawks.

The Blackhawks signed Kyle Baun to a two-year contract on Thursday.

Baun, 22, had 14 goals and 15 assists (29 points) in 38 games at Colgate University this season. In three years at Colgate the 6-foot-2, 204 lbs. forward amassed 39 goals and 40 assists (79 points) in 113 games. He is expected to report to the Blackhawks, but is not eligible for the playoffs.

Mrazek will start on Saturday vs. Tampa Bay.

Mrazek allowed two goals on 19 shots after replacing Jimmy Howard in the Red Wings 6-4 loss to San Jose on Thursday. Since being recalled, Mrazek has gone 1-2-0 with a 2.29 GAA and .936 SV%. Today he faces a Lightning team who the Red Wings are 0-2-1 against while being outscored 11-5 this season.

Girardi suffered a “gash” on his arm after being hit by a shot on Thursday.

Girardi’s cut required stitches after the game, but it is not believed to be overly serious and he should be in the lineup on Saturday in Boston.
