The Sharks have recalled Eriah Hayes from Worcester (AHL).

Hayes, 25, is a 6-foot-4, 210 pound, undrafted forward who is in his second season with the Worcester Sharks. In 29 games this season he has recorded five goals and three assists. He is not expected to have any fantasy impact.

Eriah Hayes
Wingels (leg) has been placed on injured reserve.

Wingles will miss his third straight game tonight after suffering a leg injury early in last Sunday's game vs. Anaheim. There is no timetable set for Wingels return, but his placement on IR allowed the Sharks to recall Eriah Hayes.

Tommy Wingels
McElhinney will start tonight for the Blue Jackets.

McElhinney stopped 34 shots in a 2-0 win over the Coyotes on Thursday. The Blue Jackets will hold Sergei Bobrovsky out until Monday and roll with McElhinney tonight in St. Louis. He has posted a 3-4-0 record with a 2.81 GAA and .906 SV% on the road.

Curtis McElhinney
Jonathan Quick (groin) and Martin Jones left the ice at the exact same time at this morning's game-day skate. The goalie who leaves first is usually an indicator of who is starting, but if they leave at the same time, we really have no clue who gets the call tonight.

Because Darryl Sutter does not disclose who his starter is, we will have to wait until pre-game warmups to see who leads the team onto the ice. Quick is believed to be ready to return to game action, but Sutter could choose to give him a few extra days of rest.

The Blues have reassigned Chris Porter to Chicago (AHL).

Porter has appeared in 10 games with the Blues this season, he has recorded just one assist. With David Backes returning and the Blues needing to recall Jake Allen to backup Brian Elliott tonight they needed to make roster space.

Chris Porter
The Blues have recalled Jake Allen from Chicago (AHL).

Allen will serve as Brian Elliott's back-up tonight with Jaroslav Halak still under the weather. Allen has dressed in 23 games for Chicago this season, sharing fourth among all AHL goalies with 14 wins (14-7-2), while his 2.17 GAA ranks sixth and his .922 SV% is 11th best.

Jake Allen
Josh Harding will miss his second game and third day in a row because he's not "feeling well." That's the only detail or update Yeo has provided, but this is obviously a concern.

"We'll just keep going day-to-day here. Not much of an update," WIld head coach Mike Yeo said. Yeo did talk today like Darcy Kuemper is here to stay for a bit and Niklas Backstrom must step up like he did against Buffalo.

Justin Fontaine will miss tonight's game after inadvertantly colliding with Keith Ballard in practice Friday.

Wild head coach Mike Yeo says he is sore and will see the doctors tonight at the arena. Yeo hopes it's not serious. In the meantime, Brett Bulmer has recalled and will slide into Fontaine's spot on the third line with Matt Cooke and Charlie Coyle.

Justin Fontaine
Spurgeon (lower-body) will be out for a couple of weeks.

The Wild has sustained a significant loss in its lineup for at least the next fews weeks as Spurgeon, who has played alongside Ryan Suter the past two games and was plus-3 in 27 minutes against Buffalo on Thursday, will be sidelined with a lower-body injury. He has been placed on injured reserve. Jonas Brodin will move back to the right side with Suter and Nate Prosser will move to the second pair with Marco Scandella.

Jared Spurgeon
Braden Holtby gets the start in goal tonight for the Capitals.

Holtby will get his first start in exactly two weeks. In his last start he allowed five goals on 37 shots and has allowed a total of 13 goals in his last three outings. He will get his second start of the season vs. the Wild, in the first he stopped 35 of 37 shots in a 3-2 shootout win.

Braden Holtby
Talbot starts for the Rangers.

Talbot allowed three goals on 34 shots in a 3-2 loss to the Capitals on December 27. After getting three straight starts, he sat for three straight games, but will be back in net tonight in the second game of a back-to-back. He will face a Maple Leafs team who he beat 2-1 in a shootout on December 23.

Cam Talbot
Looks like Curtis McElhinney will go tonight vs. St. Louis.

McElhinney stopped 34 shots in a 2-0 win over the Coyotes on Thursday. It appears as if the Blue Jackets will hold Sergei Bobrovsky out until Monday and roll with McElhinney tonight in St. Louis. He has posted a 3-4-0 record with a 2.81 GAA and .906 SV% on the road.

Curtis McElhinney
Backes (upper-body) will play tonight.

Backes missed the last three games with an upper-body injury but will return to the lineup tonight vs. Columbus. Backes will centre the first line with Jaden Schwartz and T.J Oshie. He has 30 points (16G / 14A) in 35 games.

David Backes
Mason starts vs. the Coyotes.

Mason allowed two goals on 31 shots in a 2-1 loss to the Avalanche on Thursday. The loss broke a five game winning streak, but he will get a chance to get back in the W column tonight in Phoenix. In October, when he faced the Coyotes in Philly he allowed two goals on 31 shots in a 2-1 loss.

Steve Mason
Pavelec leads the Jets onto the ice for warmups; he starts.

Pavelec was pulled after allowing three goals on six shots in last Thursday's win over the Wild. Following Thursday's contest, Pavelec was given the next three starts off in favour of Al Montoya. Pav enters play on Saturday vs. the Bruins 5-8-1 with a 2.76 GAA and .913 SV% on the road.

Ondrej Pavelec
Rask leads the Bruins onto the ice for warmups; he starts.

Rask was given Thursday night off, but will be back in the net this afternoon. He has been shaky lately giving up eight goals on the last 43 shots that he has faced. He draws a great matchup against an even more shaky Ondrej Pavelec and the Jets.

Tuukka Rask
Khudobin starts for the Hurricanes.

Khudobin stopped 38 of 41 shots in Thursday's win over the Capitals. He showed no rust after not starting an NHL game since October 13. He will face a surging Islanders team who have won four of their last five, beating Detroit, Minnesota, Boston and Chicago. It won't be an easy game but Khudobin looked great two days ago.

Anton Khudobin
Eriksson (concussion) is still not cleared for contact, but will travel with the Bruins on their west coast road-trip.

Following this afternoon's game the Bruins travel to Anaheim to take on the Ducks next Tuesday and will be in California until next Saturday when they take on the Sharks. There is a chance Erikssson could be cleared for contact and potentially re-enter the lineup in one of the three games on the trip. Eriksson will miss his 13th straight game today.

Loui Eriksson
Schneider starts for the Devils.

Schneider allowed just one goal on 31 shots in a win over the Islanders on December 28. The win was his fifth of the season and snapped a five game losing streak. He will take on the Sabres tonight, the first time he took on Buffalo he stopped all 15 shots he faced in a 1-0 OT win.
